I’m Rahul Singh, a qualified Company Secretary and this channel is dedicated to the Company Secretary community, I share videos to motivate, inspire, and guide students & young professionals in their CS journey. Let’s grow and achieve together! 🚀
Many Company Secretary students step into their articleship with a dream — to experience the charm of corporate life, the meetings, the formal work culture, and the tag of being a “Corporate Professional.”
But somewhere in this journey, the real purpose gets lost. They focus more on the outer appearance of corporate life than on the learning and hard work that truly shape a professional.
Articleship is not just about completing a mandatory period. It’s the foundation of your practical exposure, the phase that teaches you how the real corporate world functions — from boardrooms to compliance filings, from communication to decision-making.
However, many trainees avoid putting in genuine effort. They don’t explore, ask, or learn beyond the assigned tasks. And the result? Even after clearing the CS exams, they lack practical confidence, unable to apply the law in real-life situations — which is the true test of a Company Secretary.
Remember — 📘 Exams test your knowledge, but articleship tests your attitude and ability. 💡 Your approach during training decides the kind of professional you’ll become.
So, don’t just “spend” your articleship — invest it wisely. Ask questions, take initiative, understand the “why” behind every compliance, and make yourself ready not just to qualify, but to be competent, confident, and corporate-ready.
A small observation that carries big message for our profession
In the Company Secretary profession, laws keep changing—new amendments, circulars, notifications come out all the time.
But I’ve seen that even experienced professionals with 10+ years sometimes miss these updates. And when a junior or semi-qualified CS tries to point it out, instead of appreciating it, they often get offended.
❗This should not happen.
👉 No one knows everything, and there’s nothing wrong with learning from someone junior.
📚 In our profession, staying updated is more important than years of experience.
Let’s build a culture where:
Everyone keeps learning
Juniors feel confident to speak up
Seniors are open to feedback
📢 Respect should go both ways—upwards and downwards. That’s how we grow, and that’s how we maintain the standard of our profession.
