I wasn't a fan of the HSS configuration that this guitar came with. First off, it had a Seymour Duncan 50 wired to a 250k volume pot. Really not a cool sound for my taste, way too dark.
It also had Fender Vintage Noiseless which were wrong for this guitar, imho!
I decided to go with an SSS configuration, with a Noiseless N4 in the bridge, and two Obsidianwire 50's for the middle and neck. I am also using the @ObsidianWiresolderless harness for this one.
It rivals my Professional II with this current configuration!

Got this axe cleaned up. Frets are polished, fretboard cleaned and conditioned and the action is all set.
I can confirm that I do not enjoy the pickups on this guitar is. Fender vintage noiseless and a Seymour Duncan 59, hooked to a 250k volume pot. Not great.
I find that my other set of noiseless are way better than the ones on this guitar.

I acquired this lovely 2002 American Deluxe yesterday. It was relic’d by a company some years ago. I am not a fan of the pickups on this guitar, but it plays beautifully and inspires me a lot.
This is the before pictures. The guitar is dirty, has fretboard cheese and the frets are crusty!
I’ll play these pickups some more but I am inclined to swap them out.
