Every year, thousands of people rush to file their returns in the final hours — and end up facing:

But the real question is 👉 Which ITR should YOU file?
Here’s a quick cheat sheet:


📝 ITR-1 (Sahaj)
• Income < ₹50L
• Capital Gains up to ₹1.25L
• Agriculture Income < ₹5,000
• Sources: Salary, Family Pension, One House Property


📝 ITR-2
• Salary > ₹50L
• Director in a company / NRI
• Agriculture Income > ₹5,000
• More than one house property
• Capital Gains / Losses
• ESOPs / Unlisted Shares
• Foreign Assets / Income
• Speculative Income (Crypto, Lottery, Gambling, VDA)
• Other Income: Interest, Dividends, etc.


📝 ITR-3
• F&O Trading / Intraday / Share Trading
• Business / Profession / Freelancing / Consulting
• Remuneration received from a partnership firm (not LLPs)


📝 ITR-4
• Presumptive Business/Professional Income (Sec. 44AD/44ADA/44AE)
• Business Turnover up to ₹2Cr / ₹3Cr
• Professional Income up to ₹50L / ₹75L
• Only one house property allowed
