To anyone who thinks Goa is just a party destination or believes it's entirely shaped by Christianity — you're missing the bigger picture. I’ve experienced Goa in its truest form: a rich, layered tapestry of culture and warmth that gives you that nostalgic, homely feeling.
These images are a glimpse into that side of Goa. From the raw, symbolic presence of the phallus — or shivling — representing the unified form of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, to centuries-old church tiles that whisper stories of time gone by. Some churches, with their temple-like architecture, make me wonder if they were intentionally designed to ease conversions — just a personal speculation.
And then there are powerful nods to Hindu culture — Hanumanji’s gada and Ramji’s bow, which I mentioned in my last Goa Diaries post.
Goa, to me, revealed itself as a beautiful blend — where ancient temples stand tall and proud, and the laid-back, chill vibe that we Gen Z love is ever-present. It’s more than just nightlife — it’s soul.
She's a goddess with many stories of miracles and blessings her children with rains. The temple is known to cure problems related to diseases, finances and matrimony!
The Maratha queen is said to visit her regularly via a tunnel from the city of Thanjavur to this temple.
My auto wala bhai, Charles, took me here saying your marriage will be fixed soon!
He was confident that once I prayed there, followed the rituals of salt, pongal and flowers etc. The next time I came, I would be visiting with my partner.
You have to offer her flowers. There is a hundi at the entrance of the temple, you have to deposit salt there, take a miniscule amount and put it on your tongue (Guided by Charles bhai). Inside the priests take your offerings, put it at maa's charan and then give you prasad.
Maa is in a very dimly lit garbh griha but what power! I was literally mesmerized. She's beautiful ❤️.
I loved the aura of it, the typical south Indian temple style, and everything about it tbh. So thank you Charles bhai!
A friend suggested me this place, and when I went, I had literal goosebumps when I step foot here. Even the journey leading to it was beautiful. Just 22 kms from Pune city, this is a site very popular among lovebirds. I went there thrice more and still would love to go there. There is an ancient Ganpati temple, remnants of old temple idol, an ancient Mastaneshwar Mahadev temple which opens to a view of a khet.
One of my favorite places in Pune city. P.s. This was very much a secluded lake before.

A place that is a live tap bhoomi, where even Mahadev and Maa Bhavani forgot about their abode in Kailash.
Girnar, a home to lakhs of Aghoris, Tantriks and Sadhus.
Nestled in the jungles of Girnar is Ramnath Mahadev, a place that gives you a trance.
Mahadev along with Maa Shakti, and Kaal Bhairav are present in their serene forms.
The manifestations are as potent as you'd like to see. As intense as you feel.

This is the Mariamman Kovil temple, Thanjavur.
Locals call it as Punnainallur Mariamman temple.
