Reliability is quite an interesting aspect in Engineering , the calculation of concepts such as:MTBF, MFT, FTT etc are resolved mostly without using integration process especially at the end of a given problem. But, sometimes integration is implored at the beginning of a question to agglomerate variables such as ' y' as the case may be . Integration sign implies summation in reliability , taken cognisance of values at upper and lower limits , since it is characterized with definite integrals . Sigma signs are also used as alternative to integration signs.
The work of Isaac Newton and Stokes are quite imperative in the concept of Partial differential equations. Perturbation techniques and Momentum theories that later paved way to Navier stokes equations are commendable research by the duos. State space variables and time domains are key players in the formation of Navier stokes equations.
Partial differential equations are for functons of several variables, such that U(x, y, z, t)=given equations. It can also be limited to functions of two variables of :x, y but certainly not a function of one variable.
