Dia dhaoibh go léir! Welcome to the AB Trains YouTube channel, my name is Adam. I’m a British rail enthusiast, diagnosed with ASD and based in the English county of Lincolnshire.
For over a decade, we’ve provided plenty of Real Life and Roblox train content, and maybe the odd stream now and then if I ever got down to doing one.
The channel was founded as Golden Minecart on August 9th 2014, but was renamed to the name we have today around early-2016 due to the arrival of railway content the year before. Since then, I’ve been touring England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Mainland Europe!

This channel has now gone beddie byes to allow yours truly and of course you guys to spend quality time with family, after all Christmas ain’t just about ripping open boxes with decorative wrapping on them and shoving kilos of turkey and pork down our gullets, it’s also about spending time with our families especially with members who live miles away and only come around this time of year (unless you’re lucky).
And so on behalf of the team here, I wish all of our viewers and their families, wherever they may be and in whatever circumstances, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Expect a 2025 highlights and 2026 countdown of “some kind” on December 31st!
Cheers for all the support this year, whether you’ve stayed with us or have just climbed aboard. It’s been a wild ride given what’s been going on in recent weeks, let’s hope for a better and brighter 2026!

Ladies and gentlemen, a dhaoine uaisle…
It is with deep sadness and of a heavy heart that I announce the passing of the dog behind the intro.
Rufus, a 13 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was a dog who for most of his life and despite his age acted like a puppy, which is the reason behind making the intro in the first place, to show you all what he was. For context, he was barking at some wildlife documentary on the TV at my old house.
He unfortunately was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Disease, which is a common thing of his breed, but he also had Arthritis of the shoulder and lower back, and just recently Liver and Kidney failure which was the final straw for Rufus.
On the evening of Wednesday 3rd December 2025, he was given the final firing and passed on peacefully at a vet near Boston (who I won’t name for obvious reasons) with my father DBT Travels and a veterinarian by his side.
Rufus maybe gone physically, but his 3 famous barks that welcome you to most long form videos will not.
My thoughts and condolences go to my family, especially to my father of whom I go railfanning with, and to all those who got to know him over the years.
Please feel free to leave your own condolences down below, this is a really difficult yet necessary situation.
RIP pupster, our paths will cross again one day 💔

Last night 24 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people who went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for their morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for their morning shifts.
None of them saw past 10AM on 11/09/2001. It serves to remind us that in one single moment life may never be the same.
As you live and enjoy the breaths you take, today and beyond, before you go to sleep in preparation for your life, hold the ones you love, snuggle them a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. As one day, that ‘imminent end’ will live up to its name.
Born in 2003 I knew nothing about it at first, but when I eventually did I learnt from it and I remember those who never came home to see the next day with their loved ones again.
Nearly a quarter of a century on, we will and always remember them!
