The Department of Psychiatric Social Work, NIMHANS, under the N-SPRITE initiative, is proud to announce the 4th edition of the Suicide Prevention Short Film Festival.

We invite faculty members and students to don the hat of storytellers and create sensitive and impactful short films that promote hope, help-seeking, resilience, and human connection. Through responsible storytelling, we aim to strengthen suicide prevention awareness and reduce stigma around mental health.

We would be delighted to have your college participate in this initiative to strengthen mental health awareness and reduce stigma through the powerful medium of films.

Theme: Stories of Hope and Resilience

Prize Categories
Best 1-Minute Short Film: INR 25,000/-
Best 5-Minute Short Film: INR 50,000/-

Key Guidelines for Participants

Categories: 1-Minute Short and 5-Minute Short
Technical Requirements:
Resolution: Full HD (1920x1080p), 16:9 ratio
Language: Any (must include English subtitles).
Anyone can participate.
The applicant must be the director.
Certificates will be issued to the director.
Follow the WHO Guidelines Preventing Suicide: A resource for filmmakers and others working on stage and screen
Submission Deadline: 20 August 2026

Email the Film: Send the film to nspriteshortfilmfestival@gmail.com the chosen category (1-Min or 5-Min) clearly specified in the email subject line.
