5. It teaches us to be grateful for the new testament. The book of Job shows that in our present time, we enjoy a different measure of Grace. The new testament has brought us closer to God. We receive grace and mercy even when we least deserve it and we've been brought into adoption of sonship in the household of God. Hence, he relates with us like father to child not like creator to creation. The blood of Jesus makes all the difference.

4. It teaches us to be grateful for the redemption we have as believers through the blood of Jesus Christ. We can approach God's throne of Mercy without condemnation. We've been cleansed unlike in the days of Job where even as righteous as he seemed to be, he was treated as someone full of sin. We are in an era of Grace and have been bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We do not approach God's throne of Mercy with wariness, the veil that separates man and God has been torn, we do not need a high priest to help us with ceremonial cleansing. We have been cleansed eternally by the supreme high priest, Jesus Christ.

3. It shows the power of a righteous man. Job was sure of his righteousness and walk with God. He was ready to drag matters out with God, though still acknowledging God's almightiness. He knew his place and right in God. How many people can genuinely face God for the justification of their righteousness? Job was sure of his standing in God. Even at that, he knew he was not worthy to face God. (Job 40: 4). The Bible says in 1corinthians 10:12;
"Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall"
It is important for us to learn that we are not saved by our righteousness or our good deeds, it is God who has saved us, yet, we should live our lives in a way that shows Christ, we should live ever ready to stand before the judgement throne of God.

2. It shows the heart of men and how difficult it is to genuinely stand by you in times of trouble. It was as if Job's friends visited him out of obligation then they start to fault him for his predicament instead of calling upon God on his behalf. This teaches us that men may fail you at that moment when you need them most. We shouldn't keep grudges when they do. Sometimes, we place high expectations on others and we feel betrayed when they let us down. Our expectations should be on God not man. No man is perfect. Eventually, God reprimanded Job's friends and told them to meet Job and ask him to pray for them. So even when people let you down, remember they are not perfect and forgive them.

Lessons from the story of Job
The story of Job is one that evokes different feelings
1. It makes one wonder why God would allow such a predicament to befall someone who has served and loved Him without fault. Yet, we see the supremacy of God over the devil, the perseverance of Job and his eventual restoration. As believers, we may face difficult moments. Being a believer doesn't mean we are automatically free from life's troubles, but we have an assurance that God will restore us. Jesus said in John 16:33
"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Do not let the magnitude of that purpose which God has called you for overwhelm you. Some times, we look down on ourselves and keep telling ourselves "we can't", we feel inadequate but in our inadequacies, God shows up the strongest and the good thing about our God is that He doesn't call people that already equipped. He calls you first and for those who says yes, he equips them.
The Bible says in Romans 9:12;
"God doesn't call people on the basis of their good or bad works but according to His divine purpose".
