“The Silent Storm”

Now stands alone, with none by her side.
She moves like mist through every day,
Where love once lived, but lost its way.
Her in-laws drifts, mind unclear,
She wipes her tears, swallows her fear.
Washing the dishes, folding the pain,
Smiling in silence, again and again.
She speaks, they say, “She talks too much,”
Her truths are thorns, her tone too rough.
Not meek enough to suit the mould,
Not bold enough to break the hold.
Sometimes she craves just a meal outside,
A parcel of peace, a taste denied.
But that small wish, so quickly shamed—
“A waste of money,” she’s always blamed.
To want a bite, to break the norm,
Is enough to call her a reckless storm.
A spendthrift, they say, for needing delight,
As if joy were something she had no right.
No arms to hold her when she breaks,
No one who knows how much it takes.
Yet she must bow, must serve, must stay,
While life just quietly slips away.
She depends on hands that don’t support,
Walks on floors where love falls short.
She has a daughter, young and bright,
A flicker of hope, her hidden light.
She dreams of wings, she dreams of rain,
A place where she's not called a name.
Where speaking up is not a crime,
Where strength is not mistaken for grime.
In whispers she stores her silent screams,
In sleepless nights, she buries dreams.
Still, she rises, day by day,
With all her colours kept at bay.
A storm untold, she holds her ground,
In a world that keeps her tightly bound.
But storms don’t ask for soft replies—
They break,
they roar,
they rise.
