Alrighty, so, after trying desperately to organize my schedule (and also getting the impression that my friends and family wish for me to slow the f down) I am thinking that, mayhaps, I shall push this video back to next week. I want it to be good, and cramming it will make it bad. What's more, I have been thinking that a bi-weekly (as in every other week) upload schedule is more reasonable for me, especially considering the amount of projects I'm currently doing and want to take on shortly outside of the channel.

I will most likely occasionally have shorter videos to sprinkle into the gaps and/or have times where I'll upload long videos early. Still, going forward, I want to protect myself against burnout (and honestly have more time to actually give my Channel Members more BTS stuff like they actually deserve), so the Big Bad Uploads are going to have to be spaced out more, lest I fade from this mortal coil.

You guys have to promise to show up when I do upload, though. Pinky promise, so Daddy YouTube doesn't smack me down.

Alright, it is midnight, and I'm choosing my own wellbeing over my upload schedule. No all-nighters anymore. It's not like I've actually even been on it consistently to begin with, haha. One day, I'll get there.

I will let y'all know when it's actually going to go up, once I know. In the meantime, since this is a relevant question for another video in the works, who is ACTUALLY excited for Freakshow? Are you actually waiting around for updates? Will you actually read it if it becomes a comic within the next million years? Do you have any questions about its development that you'd like to get some clarification on? Please let me know. It'll help me bunches, haha.

PS. If you must ask for clarification as to what Freakshow is, the default answer is no to all the above questions, lol.

Why do people seem to be under the impression that art styles are pre-established things and that new artists must pick one? Cos that's not how that works.

I do not get the "jelly artstyle" or "CalArts artstyle" or "Tumblr artstyle" nonsense. I think it's fine to identify patterns and similarities. I am not anti-creating these sorts of umbrella terms, as it also falls under what an art style is, but an art style is ALSO and, in my opinion, CHIEFLY unique to an individual artist, comprised of their unique choices. There may be an "anime style", but saying all anime looks the same is only valid if you are literally blind.

This ties in with how frequently I see young artists talking about how they haven't "found" their art style whole actively drawing something. You already have your art style, and you're literally using it right now. It might not be very developed, which is fine, but that's not the same thing as not having one?

I don't get why people are so confused on this subject. All my life, art styles have been personal, but it seems like people are not on board with that anymore. It would be fine if it wasn't making people think they have to conform to pre-determined boxes, which stunts artistic freedom, experimentation, and growth, all while other folks bully each other for not finding one of the pre-determined boxes yet or not fitting into it well enough. It's pointless, painful discourse.

Sidenote, anyone who says "Tumblr artstyle" has never been on Tumblr a day in their life. Saying "Tumblr artstyle" is just as nonspecific as "YouTube artstyle" because literally any artist can post on either social media platform and literally every kind of artist does. You stinky. I think what they mean to say is "based on arbiratray observations of the subject matter you draw, I have decided you are 'woke', so Tumblr".

So, I once again underestimated the time it would take me to finish saving PNGs. You'd think I woulda learned my lesson the first time around. This is to say, new video will be out Thursday as there's some art for it that I have planned but have not been able to finish yet (including but not limited to the thumbnail).

I feel as though Thursday is becoming more normal for me to upload on than Monday, so what if I plan for Thursday uploads going forward? It's not like I've been too consistent yet, so hopefully y'all won't panic that I am changing my intentions, haha.

There's a lot of neat stuff coming down the pipeline, I swear. Super fun stuff, hopefully. I'm still hashing out a new roadmap, so hopefully I'll be more organized about moving stuff through that pipeline pretty soon. :)

Oh, yeah, I forgot, new video will be Wednesday? Probably? I'm about done but I'm runnin' outta steam for the night and, realistically, I am only going to have the energy to get done with the Picrew itself, haha.
