I finally setup a discord server for the channel!
Lately, I've received a few emails asking for help with various projects. Sometimes it's just a request to verify a component, sometimes it's a greater troubleshooting challenge. I love hearing from you all, but I realized, once I help out, the knowledge isn't really shared elsewhere.
This is where the discord server comes into play. Have a question, post it up. Got a cool build you'd like to share? Create a featured-builds post. Want to just keep up with what's going on on the channel or chat a bit?
Come join us over at: discord.gg/PZXg7rhx
Hope to see you all there!
PS. This link will only be active for 7 days and anyone who takes the time to click will get a special 'Founders' role in the discord server (the other links around the channel won't get you this special role). I thought about naming it 'Guinea Pigs' since there will likely be tech issues in the beginning, but I felt this more appropriate :)

One more review to go after today's Truvalux video. Thank you all for sticking with me through this - I won't be taking any new sponsored products anytime soon unless they directly correlate to a project I already have planned.

Man, this is disheartening to see. A 7 minute video to push affiliate links for products that failed in testing. Didn't tear down the dumfume to save face in his suggestions list. What's even the point anymore....

Good news everyone! Videos should be more frequent very soon.
Two months ago, I lost a tool I used to edit a few videos which was making the editing bearable. The company was acquired by the big player in the space and I can't justify $200-$1000 a month on a tool to edit videos. So, I decided to make my own.
Introducing Prune - an open source transcript based video editor: github.com/SloPOS/Prune
If you edit long winded rambling videos like I tend to, this thing is awesome - all self hosted running for free on your own hardware at home. It analyzes your speech and allows you to select words to cut from your video, then either exports the full video or a project file to import into your editor of choice. Works on Mobile and Desktop, is ad free and costs $0!
Grab it and let me know what you think - with any luck, I'll be using it to edit my next videos out this weekend.

TLDR: I’m pivoting the channel. I’m choosing passion over the algorithm.
When I started this channel last August, I wanted to share projects I actually cared about. Things were slow until I hit the EcoFlow series, which brought almost all of you here. Since then, I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money chasing what I thought you wanted to see.
The result? I’m bored, the videos are underperforming, and I’ve been avoiding my own warehouse because my hobby has started to feel like a job that doesn't pay.
What’s changing:
The Focus: I’m moving back to tech-focused projects I’m passionate about. I want to provide real guidance, not just read numbers off a multimeter.
The Backlog: I have a few remaining power station/battery videos and sponsorships to finish, then the pivot is final.
Memberships: I’ve turned these off for now. If the channel finds its footing again, I’ll look at them later.
I’m tired of "phoning it in." I’d rather have a smaller audience that enjoys my best work than a larger one that only likes the stuff I’m forced to make. There will still be some "battery jank" here and there, but it’s no longer the main event.
To those who stay: thanks for being here. To those who joined just for the power stations: I totally get it if you head out.
I’m done chasing numbers. I’m going back to making things I love. Stay warm out there✌️

New video is live now!
For those sharp eyes out there, you'll notice the ending shots didn't include a shot of the new light or camera. The last step of the day was to mount those and instead of driving the drill into the post, I decided to slip and drive it right through my fingernail. OUCH! I'll post a picture of the finished setup this weekend when I get back out there and (hopefully) get it mounted. I can confirm, everything is wired and working as intended!
