Science is a bottomless well of some of the most amazing things this universe has to offer. There is so much amazing science and engineering that gets done, but most often the only ones who get to experience it first hand are those in expensive labs in universities. This channel aims to explore as much of fields of science and engineering as possible by showing real experiments and research being done in a fun and accessible way. While the goal is to show that even very hard science can be done in a DIY way, some projects will use some of the fancier toys that while less accessible, opens a broader range of projects that can be done. We cover everything from genetic engineering and tissue culture, to nuclear physics, to machine engineering, to chemical synthesis and more.

What's this? We're 5 months behind on recommending cool creators? Classic.
Well this month we'll start catching up! First up, very cool person: @BeckyStern
She makes great videos exploring tech, making cool inventions, and is an all-round wonderful human. She recently turned a vape into a musical synth and I got to try it at opensauce. So fun!
Check her videos out here: youtube.com/@BeckyStern

Continuing our trend of recommending other great channels, #4, March's recommendation is @Physicsduck aka Chris Boden. youtube.com/@Physicsduck
Now it may come as a surprise but he's been making videos longer than we have, which is impressive because we started in 2010. One of their videos was what taught me about fusors (DIY nuclear fusion reactors) and was the reason I built mine all those years ago. And they've built some truly outstanding high voltage or high current devices over the years.
These days they make awesome and funny videos about all things technical. From the workings of industrial power plants, to exploring the weird and wonderful bit of technology that keep our world working. Give them a follow, we might not be making videos if it wasn't for their early inspirations all those years ago.
Who should we recommend next?

In our latest video we explored the science of how you could create a dragon. This lead down some interesting paths and some very funny looking dragon forms. Which dragon was your favourite? And what should we name them?
These derpy dudes are now available on our store as T-shirts, mugs and even pillows so you can give them a proper snuggle. thethoughtemporium.ca/
And don't forget to check out the video if you missed it, it was our biggest and probably best video we've ever made.

Help name our monsters!
As part of our new art push to upgrade the channel, we've just updated our banner with these cute monsters in jars. But you see, there's a problem. They don't have names yet! Leave your suggestions below and we'll pick the best ones.

Over the past couple years, as gen AI tools became available, we experimented a bit with it's occasional usage to generate images of some of the ridiculous made up things we talk about in videos. Like lungs made out of kale, or a french mime laying on top of some mail boxes smoking condescendingly.
But while it's quick and easy, it wasn't good. Not only were those tools built with stolen data, they're being used to fund some of the worst stuff, and being shoved into every aspect of our lives against our will.
So for 2026 we've decided that instead of paying them even a single penny more, and engaging with these tools, we're going to instead spend a little more and hire real human artists to make actual art. And so far it's been amazing. Turns out, real humans putting their heart into their work, always produces a better result. And having now done the test, we're quite sure of that.
Here is a tiny sneak peak from an upcoming video, and we can't wait for you to see the end result.

I once genetically modified my own intestinal cells to temporarily cure my lactose intolerance. Imagine my surprise to find out you could apperantly accomplish the same thing by downing a milk powder slurry for 2 weeks and suffering until you simply learn to tolerate the lactose. https://youtu.be/h90rEkbx95w?si=gYYZ8...
Our 3rd recommendation for a channel you may not be subscribed to yet is the fantastic and fun, fact filled videos of @HGModernism youtube.com/@HGModernism. Learn how they conquered lactose, but also learn a whole bunch of cool moose and bird facts while you're there, amongst many other topics.
Who should we recommend next? And be sure to check out our previous posts to see other great channels you may not have heard of before, that are definitely worth your time.

Do you have other creators you think we should feature? Let us know in the comments.
Also what should we call this initiative? We need a snappy name.
We'll put out a list of all the creators we feature at the end of the year.

In our latest video, we took on a reverse Nilered challenge and turned alcohol back into toilet paper. And yes, we did make sure to check if it can wipe.
If we were to reverse another one of his videos, which one should we do?
