Gonna be busy for a while

Not sure how many people care about this, but since some people mentioned they were worried: I've been busy with irl stuff and I'm gonna be busy for awhile, so I won't be able to upload on a daily basis as before. Health-wise, there's not much wrong with me, so there's no need to worry - I'm doing (mostly) fine.

I hope you guys are doing fine as well. I don't often respond to comments, but I always read them and I'm always thankful for the messages directed at me (after all, clippers are more or less just the invisible middle person between the viewer and the content).

In the meantime, have you guys been practicing your JP reps so you can understand Senchou when she's back?

Stay strong and stay motivated bros.

Boing boing bad

on a side note, I censored the other videos from that stream as a running gag, but I didn't really expect youtube to be that much of a cherry boy lmao

Edit: Disregard this post. I combined the parts with parts of today's stream so there's the full context.

About my recent clip of Marine talking about her throat:

I made the video before (I knew about) her break announcement, so I mostly framed it as a good feel story, ending it with her saying that her throat is getting better. But now it becomes a video that adds to the speculation and worry of certain fans (which she did not want). So I'm taking it down for now.

But the tl:dr of it was: on the 5th of July Marine went to the hospital to have her vocal cord checked and they discovered a nodule on her vocal cord. (Vocal nodules are growths that form on the vocal folds. They are benign, or not cancerous.) She assures us that it's nothing serious, and it's something that can be healed with medication, and she asks us to not worry about her.

So all in all, I am not too worried and see her break as a well deserved rest.

Welp, all good things come to an end
- Alexa play music of current mood: https://youtu.be/zc6KUlXP--M

On a more serious note, I woke up this morning and browsed my phone as always. I opened YouTube and the first thing I saw was a clip about Coco graduating. I was quite irritated because I assumed it was clickbait. Nonetheless the title was straightforward enough that I couldn’t help clicking on the video; I didn’t bother watching it and went straight to comments.

It appears it wasn’t clickbait.

Next thing I did was get out of bed, turn on my PC, played the important announcement from Coco’s channel. It was a sad announcement, but I have to admit that it didn’t come as a shock to me. In retrospect, it’s one of those things where all the signs were pointing toward it. I pretty much skipped all the stages and went straight into acceptance. In fact, I'm composed enough to kinda sort through my thoughts, so the following is just gonna be some of it, if anyone is curious at all what a literally-who-clipper thinks about this.

As some of you might know, when I started this channel, I clipped a lot of Coco stuff. Over time, the amount of Coco content on this channel dwindled. This was mostly due to Coco’s increasing popularity and other clippers realizing that the more conversational stuff was worth clipping as well. (I'd like to especially mention ‪@CripplingDepression‬ who was active before me and who inspired me to clip more talks, and ‪@felix172cococlipsonly7‬ who has done a great job as the current active Coco clipper. I've never spoken with them, but I’d like to extend my gratitude to them nonetheless for clipping so many noteworthy Coco moments.)

So gradually, I felt there was less urgency for me to clip Coco-related content. But I also have to admit that being a clipper takes at least 50% of the fun out of watching streams. This is because whenever you’re watching streams, you’re also working and keeping an eye out for noteworthy moments. At the end of the day, I got to enjoy her content a lot more with less pressure. I don’t really want to get into this mindset of “Oh, I should’ve clipped more of her!” because, as Coco herself said, you gotta stay positive.

This last point is also what, I think, kept me watching Coco. I’m not a hardcore Hololive fan. I mainly watch Coco and Marine, and sometimes Shion, and occasionally others for whatever reasons. I generally don’t care about tee tee moments, pairings, or whatever interactions that aren’t mentioned on their streams (I do care about the lewds however ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)). It’s Coco’s strong mentality, attitude, and life experiences that always kept me engaged in her talks. You can question how much of this was genuine in retrospect, considering that she’s leaving now, but I don’t think the end result should dictate the values we choose to uphold. Whether you agreed with her or not, she’s undeniably a strong and empathic person, who never has succumbed to hatred or blamed anyone for her circumstances (something which I sadly cannot say about myself). Regardless, what she stood for is untarnished for me, no matter what.

I’m sure that in the coming period, everything will be framed in this context of Coco leaving Hololive. A lot of discussion will be had about this. And a lot of clips and video content will be about this. To some, this might look opportunistic and even exploitative. I personally would like to believe that most of it comes from a good place – a desire to inform and to process. Of course, I’m a clipper myself, so you might think this is somewhat insincere coming from me, but that’s up to you. As for me, as always, I’ll be just clipping whatever I find interesting, whether it’s Coco talking about some guy shitting his pants or maybe some more serious topic.

And from here on out, I know it’s easier said than done, but if I had to choose between obsessing over every single little thing that irks me, or seeing this through and saying goodbye with peace, love and understanding, I think I’ll try doing the latter. (Does this sound cheesy? I’m sure it does – probably so much that I want to shoot myself whenever I think back on writing this while taking a shower.)

- One final thing, her announcement video has close caption, so enable that and watch that if you haven't already. I’m not gonna bother dropping a link to Coco’s channel here, because I know each and every single one of you are already subscribed. Instead, I’ll recommend you some boomer music: https://youtu.be/Ssd3U_zicAI

EDIT: thanks for all the questions! Since Senchou is back and we're not bored anymore, I probably won't be actively monitoring the comments here anymore. It was fun, you all!
