Ben & Jerry’s parent company might cut funding to its nonprofit because of its support for progressive and pro-Palestinian causes.

Ben & Jerry’s filed a lawsuit against its owner, Unilever, in November 2024, alleging it was “silencing the social mission.” This included censoring statements on Palestine and a social media post calling out Unilever board member Nelson Peltz’s connections with U.S. President Donald Trump and his billionaire adviser Elon Musk.

Peltz has been a vocal critic of Ben & Jerry’s attempts to support Palestinians and has allegedly influenced several leadership changes at Unilever.

Mohammed is one of thousands of Palestinian children starving in Gaza.

It’s now been at least 50 days since Israel allowed any aid to enter.

Aid groups say Israel’s blockade – which includes baby formula and medicine – amounts to collective punishment. For many, food has become nearly impossible to find. At least 53 children have died from malnutrition, and thousands more are barely surviving.

After an all-woman crew returned from an 11-minute trip to the boundary of space, pop star Katy Perry said she felt “super connected to love,” and that the mission was “all for the benefit of Earth.”

But critics were quick to point out the irony of claiming the Earth benefited from the trip, given that it was operated by Blue Origin, a private space company owned by billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Amazon emits millions of tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent each year, relies heavily on fossil fuel infrastructure for deliveries and has lobbied against environmental protection laws.

Bezos also announced a $1 million donation to the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump, a climate crisis denier who has issued orders to roll back climate policies.

What’s more, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warned in 2022 that increased space travel, including space tourism, could damage the ozone layer.

But the amateur astronauts defended themselves against critics, saying they’re paving the way for girls and women to travel to space.

The Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, says that the move breaks international law. Hundreds of Palestinian children face being transferred to schools run by the Israeli government, a schooling system that already discriminates against Palestinian children.⁣

Prior to the attacks on March 18, Palestinians say Israel violated the ceasefire almost 1,000 times in a span of less than two months, killing over 150 Palestinians.

Israel's attack killed over 20 members of al-Sakhani family. Most were women and children. Doctors in Gaza say many families have been completely "wiped out" from the attacks.
