My name is Ru. I am a full-time visual artist.
There are two directions in my art. The first, if paraphrased from Kafka, is like a knife I use to rummage in myself. It’s sharp and penetrating, sometimes even wounding, but all with the purpose of self-discovery. It is Conceptual art.
The second direction is healing and meditative, focused on delight and contemplation. These are abstract acrylic paintings that aim to bring beauty and harmony to the space they inhabit. They have the power to energize or, conversely, to bring a sense of calm, depending on the artwork's palette and composition.
