The most common mistake we see with new long-range shooters isn't poor marksmanship—it's skipping the fundamentals. Simple things like improperly torqued scope rings, canted reticles, or failing to true your ballistic data to real-world impacts can cost you hits at 800+ yards.

Even a perfect trigger pull can’t compensate for a bad zero or a misaligned optic. Invest the time in the basics: torque your rings evenly, level your scope correctly, confirm your zero at multiple distances, and always double-check your environmental inputs.
