Heather’s Deep Plane Facelift Journey at 56 🔥
Heather came to see me with concerns focused on her lower face and neck. She was originally interested in a mini facelift because she was understandably worried about recovery and the overall process. She was open to my recommendations once we talked through her goals.
During her consultation, we spent time looking at what was truly causing her concerns. Heather had tried many non-surgical treatments and realized she was putting temporary solutions on a deeper structural issue. The laxity in her lower face and neck involved deeper tissues, and a mini lift would not have given her the outcome she was hoping for.
Heather is now 6 months post-op:
✅ Deep Plane Facelift
✅ Deep Neck Lift
✅ Upper Blepharoplasty
✅ Facial Fat Transfer
✅ CO₂ Laser Resurfacing
✅ Removal of Threads
Before surgery, Heather had tried so many non-surgical treatments - MyEllevate, thread lifts, FaceTite, Ultherapy, fillers, and Morpheus8 RF microneedling and Sofwave.
Her permanent sutures from her prior MyEllevate procedure had tethered the platysma muscle in unnatural positions, which worsened her jowling. During surgery, I carefully removed those sutures so the deeper tissues could be lifted correctly.
🧠 Thread lifts may offer temporary tightening, but they do not correct deeper laxity in the face and neck. In some cases, permanent threads can distort natural contours and complicate future surgery. Removing them is meticulous but essential for achieving a smooth, natural result.
Heather, you are beautiful from the start and you’re simply glowing even more today!
Thank you for being so open so others can learn from your experience. ❤️

2.5 Months After Facelift 🔥 - Incisions and the Real Downtime Timeline
This beautiful patient wanted to restore balance to her lower face and neck while softening the fine lines and aging signs around her mouth. She also felt that her upper lip had lengthened over time and that she’d lost the natural volume that once framed her smile.
To address this, I performed a deep plane facelift and deep neck lift to lift and redefine her jawline and address the loose skin and laxity in her neck. I also combined a subnasal lip lift and corner lip lift to shorten and elevate the upper lip naturally, along with lip augmentation using mastoid fascia graft (taken from behind the ear), facial fat transfer, dermabrasion to the lip border, and CO2 laser resurfacing to improve her skin quality and texture.
At 2.5 months, her swelling has softened beautifully, and her results are starting to settle into place. Her neckline is smoother, her lower face is lifted, and the lip area has a more balanced proportion again - youthful but age-appropriate look! Her incisions healed well.
🧠 Understanding Facelift Downtime
Facelift recovery happens in stages — and patience is key:
✅ Weeks 1–2: You’re swollen and bruised, but healing is active.
✅ Weeks 3–4: Swelling starts to come down, the two sides of the face don’t heal at the same rate.
✅ Weeks 6–8: Most patients feel presentable — comfortable going out, seeing friends, and resuming normal activities.
✅ 3 Months and Beyond: You look refreshed and natural, though subtle refinements continue over the first year as tissues fully settle.
At 2.5 months, this patient is right in that transformation window — confident, radiant, and glowing as her final definition continues to refine.
I am so ecstatic for her amazing transformation and grateful for her sharing! ❤️

✨ When Will I Look “Normal” Again After a Facelift? ✨
One of the most common questions I get is: “When will I be socially presentable?” 👀
The truth is recovery happens in phases, not all at once. Every week brings subtle changes that add up to your final result. Here’s the realistic timeline I share with my facelift patients:
🗓 Week 1: You’re swollen, bruised, and resting — but it’s expected. The best thing you can do is stay patient and follow recovery instructions closely.
🗓 Week 2: Swelling starts to come down, but things may look uneven or “off.” This is normal as different sides heal at different speeds.
🗓 Week 3: Many patients start to feel discouraged here. The big, daily changes slow down — but healing is still happening beneath the surface.
🗓 Week 4: You start recognizing your face again. Most patients feel comfortable seeing close friends or going out for a quiet dinner.
🗓 Weeks 5–6: The swelling continues to soften, expressions look more natural, and you begin to feel like yourself again.
Full recovery — including all internal healing — takes about a year, but most patients feel confident in public by 6 to 8 weeks.
If you also had fat transfer, CO2 laser, or a brow lift, expect slightly longer healing - closer to 8 to 10 weeks because those add more swelling.
Remember: Healing is a gradual process. Be patient with yourself. Each phase brings you closer to your refreshed, natural result. 💕

✨A Difficult Facelift Case - And Why It Was Worth It ✨
Kim was 58 when she came to see me. She’s active and healthy. 5 years ago, her face and neck started changing fast—jowling, loose skin, hollowing. That’s when the spiral began.
She was told non-surgical treatments would be the solution. She tried everything:
💉 HA Fillers
⚡ Morpheus8
⚡ Ultherapy
💥 CO2 laser
💥 Fraxel
💥 IPL
Nothing worked. And worse, they layered damage.
By the time she came to me, Kim had:
– 8 years of Filler fatigue
– Morpheus8 which likely melted precious fat under the skin
– Ultherapy treatments which layered more scarring in the deeper plane where I needed to perform the lift
– Dozens of squamous cell carcinomas removed from the face and body
– Aggressive lasers on fragile, Irish skin
Her face had lost structural integrity. Skin was sun-damaged and scarred. Filler had masked the problem—then it was overdone and migrated.
To fix this, we had to start over from zero.
✅ Step 1: Dissolve her filler
– Lips, cheeks, jawline, oral commissures
– I couldn’t lift or restore until the distortions were gone
✅ Step 2: Rebuild
✔️ Deep Plane Facelift & Neck Lift
✔️ Temporal Brow Lift
✔️ Fat Transfer to cheeks, eyes, temples
✔️ Subnasal + Corner Lip Lift
✔️ Lip Augmentation using her own graft taken from behind the ears
✔️ Upper Blepharoplasty
Why this worked:
🧠 I rebuilt for structure first, not volume.
💉 I replaced her HA filler with natural fat.
⚠️ I respected the limits of her skin.
She now looks natural. Rested. Like herself again. No distortion, no heaviness.
This isn’t just a facelift. It’s a reversal of years of compounding mistakes - treatments that weren’t addressing the structural issue.
Non-surgical treatments have a place, but only when used at the right time, on the right face, at the right place, and for the right reason.
👩⚕️ My role is not just to lift, it’s to reset.
Some patients need more than just a facelift.
They need a clean slate.

💫 Margriet’s Facelift Journey 🙌🏼
Margriet is 6 months out from her Deep Plane Facelift, Deep Neck Lift, Deep Neck Contouring and Temporal Brow Lift.
Margriet was bothered by her heavy neck and prominent jowls. Like many of my patients who have come in for their consultation, she tried fllers first. However, she got them dissolved because it caused more fullness and heaviness in her lower face. She wanted to address the deep wrinkles in her cheeks and around the mouth. Margriet was also worried about getting pixie ears and how the facelift incisions will look like.
What Margriet Had:
✔ Deep Plane Facelift – lifted and restructured the lower face and jawline
✔ Deep Neck Lift + Deep Neck Contouring – addressed the heavy neck, hanging and loose neck skin
✔ Temporal Brow Lift – elevated the outer brows to brighten her upper face
✔️ Incisions healed beautifully
Margriet was researching facelift for many years and has watched all of my videos with my Journey patients. She has continued to pay it forward by sharing her own story!
🔥 Margriet’s glow and her confidence (and even more today) are simply undeniable!
Margriet, thank you for your continued trust and courage in sharing so others can learn about the facelift journey and healing process! ❤️
💫 Watch Margriet’s Journey under my IG Highlights + Stories!
Facelift Downtime Expectations:
• 2–3 weeks average for initial recovery
• Most patients are back to work after 2 weeks
• Social event-ready by weeks 4–6 on average
• Swelling continues to improve up to 3–6 months
• Final results evolve over 6–12 months—plan ahead for events!

👀 “My eyelids feel heavy… and I just want to look like me again.”
This patient came in feeling like her eyes had aged faster than the rest of her face. She didn’t want to erase all signs of aging — just to look more like herself again.
✅ What I Recommended:
• Endoscopic Brow Lift – to lift her brows back to a natural, more open position
• Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty – to remove excess skin and reduce heaviness
• Lower Blepharoplasty with Fat Transposition – to reposition the fat pads (eye bags) under her eyes and smooth out the tear troughs
• Skin Pinch & Lateral Canthopexy – to remove loose skin under the eyes and support the lower lid during healing
🧠 EDUCATION MOMENT:
Many people think droopy eyelids are just a “skin issue,” but brow ptosis is often the root cause. When the brows fall, they push down the upper eyelids and create that tired or hooded look.
In this case, even after lifting the brows, she still had excess upper lid skin — so we combined the lift with a conservative blepharoplasty.
For the lower eyelids, herniated fat pads were creating puffiness, and she had a true tear trough deformity — which we addressed by transposing the fat rather than removing it. This keeps the result smooth, natural, and avoids hollowness.

Tired Eyes, Heavy Lids… Gone 👀
After years of using filler to mask under-eye hollowing, this 53-year-old patient was ready for a more permanent solution. She wanted to look refreshed—like herself, just more awake.
✅ What She Had Done:
✔️ Upper Blepharoplasty
✔️ Lower Blepharoplasty with Fat Transposition and skin pinch excision
✔️ Lateral Canthopexy
💬 “People kept saying I looked tired… even when I wasn’t.”
✨ Her Concern:
Filler helped temporarily, but it started creating puffiness under the eyes. The hollowing and the heaviness of her upper lids made her look more tired than she felt. She wanted something long-lasting and natural—not a patchwork fix.
📚 EDUCATION MOMENT:
Filler can’t fix everything. In patients with under-eye bags, volume distortion from old filler can actually make things look worse over time. For her, the first step was dissolving all remaining HA filler to reset the area.
Then we addressed the real issue:
➡️ Lower Blepharoplasty with Fat Transposition and Skin Pinch Excision smoothed the contour beneath the eyes by repositioning herniated fat and removing the excess skin.
➡️ Upper Blepharoplasty removed the excess skin weighing down her eyelids and the herniated fat causing puffiness of her upper eyelids.
➡️ Lateral Canthopexy supported and reinforced the shape of the eye for long-term results.
🌟 Her eyes now reflect how she feels: rested, lifted, and awake.

🔥 Eyelid Rejuvenation at 43 - Lower Blepharoplasty 👀
This handsome patient of mine came to me because he was constantly being told he looked tired, despite feeling young. He had tried everything: eye creams, anti-aging serums, even under-eye filler three years ago. Nothing worked.
He wanted a solution that wouldn’t leave him looking “done.” He wanted to look natural. After evaluating his anatomy, I recommended ✅ Lower Blepharoplasty with Fat Transposition. I used the excess fat under the eyes and redistributed it to smooth the undereye hollows and contour.
The result? A refreshed look and a longer lasting solution. No one is asking if he’s tired anymore—his energy finally matches how he looks.
💬 Education Moment:
In this case, avoiding a skin excision was critical due to his facial anatomy. Given that he has a negative eye vector, further skin excision could put him at risk for ectropion, and the possibility of a visible incision line.
If you’ve had filler that didn’t help or made things worse, lower eyelid surgery with fat repositioning and/or facial fat transfer are other possible options.
🔁 Downtime Expectations:
• Bruising and swelling typically peak at days 2–4
• Most patients return to light activity after 2 weeks
• Results evolve over 3 months on average as swelling resolves

👀 Should You Combine Facelift and Rhinoplasty? The answer is—it depends!
Larry came in with two big concerns: the loose skin on his neck after weight loss that made him look older than he felt—and a bulbous, prominent nose he felt never quite fit his face. As a competitive rugby player (yes at 60!), Larry and I worked on a plan that would deliver great results without compromising his lifestyle or timeline.
While many patients combine multiple procedures for facial rejuvenation, I’m very selective when combining facelift and rhinoplasty. These are two major surgeries—and I consider factors like complexity, length of surgery, and downtime.
🎯 My Recommendation for Larry:
After reviewing his goals, anatomy, and lifestyle, I recommended a staged plan:
🥇 Phase 1: Rhinoplasty
We reshaped the nasal tip and bridge to better fit his features without impacting breathing. His thick skin and vascularity limited how slim the tip could get, but the change still looked natural and impactful.
🥇 Phase 2: Deep Plane Facelift + Neck Lift
His laxity extended from the neck into the lower face, so I lifted both areas in one surgery - muscle, fat and skin.
🪡 My Technique:
• Lifted muscle and fat layers (not just skin) for strong neck and jawline definition
• Removed excess skin
• Hid scars around the ear and hairline
We also discussed the possibility of posterior hair follicle shifts and electrolysis later if needed.
🥇 Phase 3: Lower Blepharoplasty with Fat Transposition
Larry wanted to address under-eye bags early. I removed loose skin and repositioned fat pads. We held off on upper lids to avoid an overdone look.
💡 Every patient is different. That’s why I ask the right questions—your “why,” your timing, your goals.

Rhinoplasty Transformation 👃
This beautiful patient of mine came in seeking Rhinoplasty because she felt like her nose never quite matched the rest of her features. After a childhood accident where she fell and hit her nose on metal, she developed a visibly crooked bridge. Though it healed naturally at the time, the lasting impact has bothered her ever since—especially on side profile and when smiling. She’s also lived with chronic congestion due to a deviated septum and old nasal fractures, which we discussed at her consultation. She’s tried nasal sprays with no relief. She also had a nasal hump, bulbous and droopy tip that she wanted to address.
🩺 Key Findings at Her Consultation:
• Crooked nose with significant septal deviation
• Visible hump on the dorsum and bulbous nasal tip
• Nose leans to the right, worsened by old fractures
• Tip drops when smiling (classic dynamic tip issue)
• Her goal is to have a smaller, more refined nose that fits her face and matches her features
• Since the deviation has been present for years, and cartilage has memory, I explained that perfect straightness isn’t guaranteed, but we expect overall improvement.
✅ Goals of Surgery:
• Straighten the bridge while accepting there may still be a slight right lean
• Reduce nasal hump and projection
• Refine bulbous tip
• Improve breathing while maintaining natural structure
• Balance nose-to-face proportions without over-narrowing
I am ecstatic for her outcome and grateful for her sharing!
