I'm a marine biologist and come with me to explore ocean news and the science behind viral animal stories. From orcas eating great white shark livers, Neil the Seal, the invisible barriers animals do not cross, to how we know Megalodon is extinct. My goal has always been to use my passion for animals like whales, sea otters, and walruses to form a connection with people and inspire them to engage in ocean conservation.

It is Sea Otter Awareness Week everyone! Kelp forests depend on sea otters to control populations of sea urchins and other kelp-eating animals. Reintroducing sea otters to the Northern California and Oregon coasts, where there has been a dramatic loss of kelp forests, could help restore and renew these vital ecosystems.
