This was peak Voodoo-era D'Angelo, when he was revolutionizing R&B with a sound that artists still chase today. The interplay between Pino's bass, Questlove's drums, and D'Angelo's vocals is a masterclass in groove. 🎹🎸🥁

I was incredibly fortunate to catch D’Angelo live at Brixton Academy in 2012, and WOW—what an unforgettable experience. 🤯😱

My dad, a huge big band fan, first put on this Classic Album for me when I was 14. The energy of the music just blew me away! Buddy Rich, known for his fire on and off the drums, was undeniably one of the most influential drummers of his generation. ‘Big Swing Face’ is a landmark album, recognized for its high-octane performances and Rich's unparalleled drumming prowess.

Released in 1967, this live album captures the Buddy Rich Big Band at the height of their powers. The infectious energy of big band music, with its driving horns and tight rhythms, can be just as powerful as any rock or fusion band in full swing.

Fun fact: ‘The Beat Goes On’ features vocals by Buddy Rich's daughter Cathy, which were overdubbed at United Recording in Hollywood.

Calling all Thin Lizzy fans! Let's celebrate the legendary 'Jailbreak' album, released in 1976.

Back in the day, I remember working out the bass parts to ‘Emerald’ and ‘Jailbreak’. Learning songs from vinyl was a great way to connect with the music's history. The crackle of the needle as it hit the record was like hearing songs made from gold. It helped to awaken the desire to play with a band.

‘Jailbreak’ catapulted Thin Lizzy to international stardom and remains a cornerstone of classic rock.
