'Outer space is where only a select few can reach; yet it is somewhere we dream of going, or perhaps collectively, simply wanting to know what is out there.'

Lost In The Forest: Music from the RSC’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the music Will Gregory created for the RSC’s production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The album is released today, Friday 8 August, on all digital platforms, via Real World X. - lnk.to/XRW52
“What you're hearing on these ten tracks is very much the initial phase before it got chopped and chopped and chopped down, to fit the needs of the production. Director Eleanor Rhode wanted pre-show music, so the band came on ten minutes before the play started and played some music while everyone's getting to their seats and chatting. It allowed people to accept the idea that music was going to happen during the play and it also meant that we were able to develop some longer pieces, which you'll hear. I'm so glad that it's ended up having a second life as a record, it's lovely.”

Watch the live session version of Clara Serra López's new single 'Niña De La Risa' which has just gone live. The single is out now on all digital platforms.
“I wrote this song while recovering from a vocal injury, which really shook my relationship with my voice. I’ve been studying and working on my voice since I was a teenager, so not being able to fully rely on it was destabilising both creatively and financially, since all of my work depends on it. It took months of vocal rehab with experts who helped me realise my voice wasn’t broken; I was born with a set of vocal cords that give me a unique sound but just need a bit of extra care. After this process, and thinking I’d never properly sing again, I came out the other side with a renewed love for my voice and a deeper understanding of it.”

Will Gregory talks synths and Shakespeare with the announcement of Lost In The Forest: Music from the RSC’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the music he created for the RSC’s recent production.
You can listen now to first track, Threatening Bass, which reflects “a moment of drama, risk and peril within the play and was deployed in a scene where Puck takes the four lovers and makes them jump through hoops, completely in Puck's power and under his spell. It's kind of magic, but also quite terrifying and aggressive.”

Watch flautist and composer Eliza Marshall as she reflects on the track 'First Light', the second single from her forthcoming 'New Birth EP'. 'First Light' is out now on Real World X.

‘First Light was very inspired by a time in Kenya when I got up early and I could hear all the cicadas in the long grasses,’ says Eliza. ‘It felt really appropriate to use those sounds within the recording and then be able to layer-up lots of different bass flute sounds, some balafon, a few vocals and then the haunting flute melody on top of it.’

‘First Light could be the sunrise, a new dawn but it could also be a life coming into the world. What is that first light that you see? It’s a very beautiful thing, the innocence of that first moment in the world. But this isn't always a happy place. This isn't a perfect world, much as we'd love that. There are lots of things we need to fix. There's an element of sadness or an element of realisation that this isn't just this perfect earth.’
