Hi Dear LaDoris,

First, I'd like to thank you for all your work and the wonderful classes you've held for us. I've had one of the best English classes ever. I felt like, as a native speaker, you could frankly inform us of our mistakes and focus on the main downside of our English speaking, which is pronunciation. Before having a class with you, I didn't have any idea about my weaknesses, but you discovered them and helped me like a baby who just starts speaking, being familiar with my fundamental pronunciation mistakes and helped me to build up correct ones from scratch.

To be honest with you, I don't think 3 months for an English class is enough, since it is a long process and all the time, a learner needs someone to give them feedback and express their idea about the amount of progress they've made. I'm not sure about a specific timeframe, but I think the longer, the more impactful.

I definitely recommend your classes to all my friends and family. You are such a patient and kind teacher, and I felt free and comfy in your class. I didn't feel embarrassed whenever I made a mistake. I felt like you understood my feelings and concerns as you are a language learner yourself, and I couldn't wait for our class time to come because we had fun all the time.

That’s how long it took me to listen to A Walk Through Fire.


Mrs. Johnson shared her struggles in great detail and how she fought to overcome them.

I never knew who founded BET until the other day. She’s the co-founder and her ex-husband Bob is the founder.

I almost called him another name but that wouldn’t be nice.😂😅

Once I finished, these 3 things kept coming to mind.


1. A toxic relationship can destroy you so build up the courage to leave.

2. Believe in yourself more than anyone else does.

3. If you quit while it’s hard, you’ll miss your lesson for your next season.

Dang, thank you for writing this book and reading it yourself. 🎯

When you’re learning new ways to pronounce the T sound it can be dangerous. 😅

Be careful not to hold your breath too long for the stop T sound.

To help you understand what I mean, say this phrase out loud.

I won’t buy candy today.

The T in won’t is what you need to focus on; it’s not pronounced.

I was living as if I’ve forgotten who I belonged to.

I was scared to show up for myself.
Scared of what could go right
Scared of what could go wrong
Scared of what you would say about my weaknesses

Fear could’ve stopped me a long time ago, but it didn’t

Today, I thank God that I didn't allow myself to quit.

You know, it’s common to hear don’t worry about your haters.
Show them how they’re wrong by being successful.

Haters wasn’t my plight.

I had to keep quit hating and hating on myself.🎯

I’ve learned you can’t believe your dream can happen for you and then in the next breath curse it.
