I'm a big proponent of physical media, and nothing beats that feeling of finding a movie you've never seen before out in the wild.

YouTuber Viking Samurai has a role in this, and I really like his channel, so I'm curious to see him make the jump from talking about martial arts movies to starring in one.

The more movies I review, the less interested I become in finding "hidden masterpieces."

What fascinates me now are the forgotten corners of VHS history.

The recurring actors.
The tiny production companies.
The strange trends.
The movies that feel like artifacts from another era.

The Dangerous is exactly that kind of movie.

Sometimes the weird ones are the most memorable.

Ever go back and rewatch a movie years later...and realize you were wrong?

That happened to me with Circuitry Man (1990).

I still don't think it's a great movie. The action is weak. The villain's motivations really make no sense.

But I totally underestimated how funny and self-aware it is. Sometimes a micro budget forces filmmakers to get creative instead of throwing money at the screen.

Top Gun told kids what they could become.

Iron Eagle told kids they could do it right now.

That's why I loved it as a kid.

I haven't seen it in years, so I'm curious whether it still works or if nostalgia is doing all the heavy lifting.

Reused footage. Same locations. Even the same nightclub showing up in another movie.
