Sorry for the brief break from posting! I’ve been thinking a lot about my art direction lately—especially whether I should keep making kemonomimi content alongside my furry artwork.

The answer is yes! I still genuinely love kemonomimi, so I’m absolutely going to continue creating it. That said, I may not post it as frequently as before, since I want to make space for my other fandoms and creative interests too.

Happy Autism Acceptance Month! ♾️🌈

I’m truly proud to be autistic. I was diagnosed at four years old, and I didn’t speak much until I was around six—which is part of why my voice comes across more tomboyish in real life.

Even so, being able to fully be myself now has been such a huge relief. It means everything to me to stand proudly in who I am and to support others across the spectrum, too.

As many of you know, I care deeply about people, but I’ve also gone through moments where others—both in real life and online—have blamed me for my mental health struggles, and that really took a toll on me. Because of everything I’ve been dealing with and the way I’ve been treated, I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from creating and sharing art for the foreseeable future. Yep, the “retirement” post was all part of the joke. And honestly? Seeing how many people cared and reached out meant way more to me than I expected. It really made me stop and reflect.

The truth is, I love creating. I love making art, sharing the things I’m passionate about, and being part of these communities. And most importantly, I love all of you—my family, friends, fans, and supporters.

My full name is Mary Rose Alibek, though most people just call me Mary.

I’ve had this name my whole life, so I’ve always been pretty neutral about it—but I’ve been told so many times in person how much people like it, and I always get such kind, positive reactions. It honestly means a lot to me 🩷💖✨
