š·š“ š¬š§ Mum blogger sharing from my learnings and experience of raising a child in a foreign country at foreignbabyclub.com! Keen to reach parents worldwide and help others on their parenthood journey āŗļø
But thatās not the only big change⦠After a lot of late nights reflecting on what really matters and what I truly enjoy (and brainstorming sessions with my husband), Iāve decided to take a leap and start a new chapter ā going fully self-employed! Itās exciting, a little scary, but it feels so right for me.
I canāt wait to share more about what Iāve been working on and what this next adventure looks like.
I would love for you to follow along as I build this next chapter from the ground up. Stay tuned ā Iāll be sharing the full story soon. š¢
"My husband (then my boyfriend) however wasnāt very satisfied with where he was at, so moving abroad came into conversation. I had some experience with living abroad ā while a student, I enrolled in a Work and Travel USA programme and I did an exchange semester in Germany, so I contacted an agency I knew to simply ask for information about options. Within a month, we were packing our bagsā¦"
In my latest article, I share with you how we decided to relocate, how difficult it was to find a job in my field in the UK, and how getting a masterās degree opened doors for me.
I also invited Roxana Alexa (Student Advisor) to tell us more about why parents should consider going back to education, what support and benefits are out there for parents returning to school and how to choose the right course.
If this is something of interest to you, I hope reading my article helps you make up your mind! Good luck!
Even when you do have other mum friends, people tend to be private and the real challenges of parenting are rarely discussed. This is where parenting support networks come in and depending on your circumstances, you should consider building, make it stronger, or expanding your network.
If you donāt know where to start, try: āØļø looking for online listings of local support groups āØļø using parent apps āØļø getting to know fellow parents at school events and activities āØļø reaching out to parents to organise a playdate ⨠ļøgetting to know your neighbours better ⨠ļøbuilding connections with other parents at kidsā birthday parties
For my latest blog article, I asked Hannah Chow from The Mum Club Basingstoke, who hosts networking events aimed at mums at all stages of parenting, to tell us more about the importance of building genuine connections with other parents, how this can help keep you sane, and how she supports mums in the community.
Consumer Notice, an NGO dedicated to providing consumers with reliable health and safety information, recently reached out to me. To ask me to consider using their resources for my next blog article, to help them "spread awareness and empower parents and children with the knowledge they need to stay safe online". š
This is a topic that I long wanted to cover and I found their resources to be very informational when it comes to e-safety advice and guidance, so here you have it! My most recent blog article... š
PS: Iām sure that as my baby grows, Iāll continue to refer to this article, to make sure I have implemented every single one of these tips. I hope you will too! āØ
Last week at work, we hosted āŖ@Shereen_Daniels⬠(bestselling authour and HR Strategist), who talked about anti-racism. A very inspiring speech and I quoted below, what I found to be, a very important take-away from it. This (to me!) means that people who haven't experienced racism will need to push themselves to recognise it and stop it.
If you are a parent, one way to show that you care is to prevent your children from becoming racist. Even if you haven't experienced racism yourself or if your kids are unlikely to!
"Raising a child puts a big responsibility on your shoulders and many parents, in their desire to prioritise the childās welfare and due to spinning too many plates at the same time, often leave their own selves neglected. š
As a result, in time, parents may lose fulfilment in parenting and become easily irritable, stressed out, and unhappy. Or, in worse case scenarios, as research shows, we may experience āparental burnoutā, which can lead to higher levels of coercive or punitive parenting practices, and a higher risk for child maltreatment. š¬
We all know the say that āyou need to look after yourself so you can look after othersā (or āput on your own life jacket firstā), but self-care and me-time are one of the last things that we do as busy parents ā that is, if we ever get to it! Iāve learned the hard way that I need to take care of myself, so Iām now making this a priorityā¦" [...]

"I had always been a career driven woman, so I really wanted to be on top of my game when I returned to work from maternity leave. But surprise, surprise, things didnāt go to plan!" [...]

"For any new parents returning to work after parental leave, deciding on the best childcare option for their baby can be overwhelming, because there are many factors to consider, and this is not a decision that one takes lightly. For foreign parents, who may have limited support from their wider families and who were raised in a different system, choosing childcare can be an even more difficult task."

Have you wondered what Iāve been up to this past year ā since my last post? š
Itās been a year of growth, change, and the most beautiful kind of chaos. We welcomed our second little one into the world, and life has been full of cuddles, laughs, and learning how to juggle all the new rhythms that come with being a family of four and parents of two boys. š¼šØāš©āš¦āš¦āØ
