About me:
Concert flutist and Professor April Clayton has performed in major venues around the world. She has been Guest Artist at top music schools including Juilliard, the Ecole Normale and Schola Cantorum in Paris, and many others. Her students have won some of the most prestigious flute competitions, and now perform professionally and teach at major music schools. She was the youngest student to have been admitted to the doctoral program at Juilliard, beginning doctoral studies there at age 21.

April Clayton - Flute Tube
I have another new CD that's just been released! I managed to film an unboxing/intro-to-the-music video, with lots of sound clips from the new CD, for this one. I'll post it on Friday! The CD is called Mon Coeur, and the whole program of music is performed by my flute and harp duo, Lóa. I explain these names and titles, plus lots more about what's on this CD, in the video. Mon Coeur is my third album to come out in the past 15 months! It's been a busy and great recording/album release time! Here's a just-slightly-bendy photo of the CD cover. :) <3

OOPS - it looks like my last YouTube post was one year ago! Well... now I'm very happy to say that I have another CD coming out! It's flute music with and without piano, written by three-time Grammy-nominated composer, Miguel del Aguila. And Miguel is playing all of the piano parts with me on our CD! It will be released on the Urtext Digital Classics label on AUGUST FIRST! Can't wait! :D

April Clayton - Flute Tube
Hat Trick's new CD, Big Sky, was officially released today! You can find the whole album on YouTube if you do a quick search, and it's available for purchase and streaming elsewhere, too. I love the program on this CD: works for flute, viola and harp by Bax, Bruce, Daniel Dorff (we commissioned this piece, and it's a world premiere recording), Jessica Meyer (another commission and premiere recording), Musgrave, and Negrón.
To celebrate, I also updated the Flute Tube playlist of Hat Trick's first CD, called Garden of Joys and Sorrows. It had not been visible on YouTube for many years, but it's back!! Enjoy some Hat Trick today! April Clayton (flute), David Wallace (viola), Kristi Shade (harp)!

April Clayton - Flute Tube
I have a release date for my next CD! Its title is "Big Sky," put together with my flute-viola-harp trio, Hat Trick. We recorded in Bremen, Germany last November, and it will be released on the Bridge Records label this *July 19* ! Our engineer created a truly beautiful sound. The harp tone, especially (a very difficult instrument to record well), is gorgeous. I've noticed that the Big Sky CD is already listed on several websites as being available soon. I'll try to post a video about it before it comes out!
