I have a confession to make. I don’t like being on set (and I call myself a director?). Everything has to be done in a limited amount of time, money is on the line, and redoing anything after the fact would be a gargantuan task. I prefer the freedom of writing and editing, where I can really take my time and I also love working with actors.

But being on set with this film was really enjoyable. Still a lot of pressure, but we did a ton of pre-production and I cannot give this cast and crew enough credit, having the right balance of professionalism and fun. We were able to get into a flow state a number of times.

We are tinkering away at this film now and getting the edit down. The Epilogue: coming to film festivals in 2026!

I’m almost finished the first cut of my new film, The Epilogue, and damn this might be one of the smoothest times I’ve had editing. Production went well, and I’m just starting to see the fruits of everyone’s labor.

This film explores everything messy, but also beautiful about love and relationships. It’s also two young people trying to figure out life. This is the realest film I’ve ever made, yet I’ve also integrated some of my music video and experimental filmmaking style into it. The film has been percolating in my mind for years, only now to become a reality.

I cannot wait to share this film with everyone. I try not to toot my own horn too much, but there’s something different about this one compared to my previous work. And the amount of creativity and talent with the cast and crew is on another level.

The Ocean City Film Film Festival was one of the best film fests I’ve been to. They are really building community with a whole timeline of screenings and events throughout the weekend. I met a lot of awesome creatives and our film, The Bottle was really well received. Also this is the first festival that my best friend, co-writer, and co-director has been able to go to so that was great. And we did an ultra exclusive screening of Max’s 4 Corners film rough cut in our hotel room so that was fun. #film #filmmaking #filmfest

Trying something new. Here’s a teaser for my upcoming short film, The Epilogue, in the form of very short script excerpts. This is the most real and emotionally raw story I’ve ever written. It’s taken a few years and a lot of trial and error to get this thing right.

I plan to shoot this around the summer and hopefully finish it by the end of the year. This project will have some new challenges for me as a filmmaker, which is both daunting and exciting. #filmscript #filmmaking #writing

I made a new poster/thumbnail for my old senior thesis short film, Ashes, which was filmed around this time 10 years ago. Gotta throw in the laurels! I learned a lot about writing and directing through the process of making this film. I remember one day going over the script line by line with my actors, and sometimes they’d ask why their character is doing something and I had to either justify it, or change it. It really emphasized the collaborative nature of film. Also, there’s definitely some overlap between this film and my new one, The Bottle. Ashes has some issues, but overall I’m still proud of it. Happy to announce that The Bottle will be playing at the @ityfilmfestival6645 March 7th in the “Messages from Beyond” block. It was filmed in southern Delaware, very close to OC. How appropriate is it that a beach set film will be screened right by the beach!
