Well, that was interesting. Iron Maiden's copyright team had YouTube take down our still photo video/audio for The Trooper. YouTube had said it was OK to have the song up, said it wasn't a copyright strike, but that it couldn't be monetized and ads would play on it. That was fine - this channel isn't monetized, it's here solely to promote the bands we love. But to have them come in and hit us with a copyright hard strike when it was cleared by YouTube for over a year? That was disappointing. The playlist has been updated with the official Iron Maiden version (the 1998 remaster, which sounds better than the 2015 remaster). Anyway, things can change quickly on YouTube when it comes to copyright issues. Hopefully, Iron Maiden will respond to our request for any further songs that may be problematic so we can voluntarily pull them down rather than getting another hard strike.
