“My name is ** and I am a BS ** student at the Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad. My sister is also a BS student at NUST.
My father is a laborer and is 50 years old. We are seven siblings and all of us are studying. One of my sisters could not complete her education due to financial problems. Currently, two of us are university students. One sister is in 1st year, one brother is in 9th class, one sister is in 5th class, and one brother is in kG. All of them study in government schools Vehari.
My father and I borrowed money from friends to pay our university fees. Now our friends are demanding repayment of the loan, which has become very difficult for us due to our financial situation.
We paid the fees because we were hoping that we will get CM Punjab Honhaar Scholarship and so we will easily return the loan. However, in federal government universities*, there were only 10 seats, due to which the scholarship was not awarded to us.
My final interview has been completed and my name is first on the final list for the need-based scholarship.
On Friday, my sister and father also appeared in the *scholarship interview at NUST*. The scholarship results will be announced by the end of December. We also met the Vice Chancellor of NUST, after which the interview was conducted, and we were informed that the scholarship would be approved.
Our entire education has been from government schools, where the monthly fee is only 20 rupees.”
