How you respond to your GCSEs > the results themselves.
When I reflect on my GCSE results, the thing I’m most proud of isn’t the grades I got.
It’s what I did with them.
From growing my own tutoring business to starting my YouTube channel, I maximised the outcome.
Most significantly, they gave me the confidence that hard work pays off, and that it’s worth aiming high.
Now that I’m at university, GCSEs are hardly mentioned.
I was even told in a CV clinic to remove mine because they ‘took up too much space.’
To anyone receiving GCSE results tomorrow:
Celebrate the milestone first - you’ve earnt it!
After that, focus on what you do next, not just the number on the page.
Whether that’s a tutoring business, a side project, or just working harder at A-level - make the most of the opportunity in front of you.

This was me opening my A-level results in 2024…
I was predicted 3A*s, and was confident I’d achieve that.
However, my results didn’t go the way I wanted.
I got A*, A*, and a B in history.
You can see it in this photo. I was shocked.
It only really sank in once both my remark and appeal came back unchanged.
Flash forward to now: I resat history, got an A, and topped the Warwick history department (400+ students) in my first year studying history and politics.
This post is for anyone who didn’t get the results they wanted yesterday, or didn’t get into the uni they wanted.
There is a path forward for you.
Don’t give up. Learn from the setback, and let it push you forward.

WELL DONE EVERYONE FOR FINISHING YOUR EXAMS 🥳🥳
You should all be so proud of the effort you’ve put in. I know it may be hard for some to stop thinking about exams but my biggest advice is to try and enjoy yourself this summer and put results day out of your mind!
I’ll do one final well done video at some point this week with a channel update :)

SO I'm thinking about making my own - designed specifically for GCSE and A-Level students, with revision-specific features built in.

On a real, having a YouTube channel is a dream that I’ve had since I was a child. It means so much to me that all of you have subscribed and helped make this dream come true for me.
No matter how much I grow, my subscribers and viewers will remain the most important factor in my videos. Those who have followed me for a while will hopefully know by now that my content is guided by you guys and what is helpful for you.
