Many people have heard about God’s love. They may even claim to know that God loves them. But very few people really understand God’s love.
The Bible says: “May you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is” (Ephesians 3:18 NLT).
How wide is God’s love? It’s wide enough to be everywhere.
There’s no place in the universe where God’s love ends. God’s love is present with the powerful and with the poor; it’s where you can see it and where you can’t. Even when you feel lonely, you will never ever truly be alone. Because God’s love is always there, wherever you are.
How long is God’s love? It’s long enough to last forever.
Human love wears out—but God’s love never does. Even if you reject God, he still will love you. God’s loves is eternal. He loves you with an everlasting love that will never stop.
How deep is God’s love? It’s deep enough to handle anything.
No matter the depth of your pain and problems, God’s love is deeper still. There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper.
How high is God’s love? It is high enough to overlook your sins.
Because of Jesus, God is able to overlook your faults, failures, sin, and rebellion. When he was hung high on the cross, Jesus showed his love for you. And it’s through that love that he offers forgiveness and a chance to start over.
Your number one purpose in life is not to accomplish something or to make a lot of money or to have a lot of fun. Your number one purpose is to experience God’s wide, long, deep, high love!

What does God want you to do with your life? The apostle Paul knew the answer to that question—and it’s the same answer for you: “The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me—to tell people the Good News about God’s grace” (Acts 20:24 NCV).
So how can you “tell people the Good News about God’s grace”? There are four ways:
Pray that people will say yes to God.
Part of your calling in life is to pray that God will send people to reach everybody with the Good News of God’s love. Because everybody deserves to hear.
Give to help others go.
Maybe you’re in a stage of life where you can’t go far from home to share the Good News. But the Bible says that supporting people financially is an important part of spreading the gospel. Jesus said, “Freely you have received; freely give” (Matthew 10:8 NIV).
Step out in faith.
God doesn’t force anyone to obey him—he only uses volunteers. So you have to step out in faith to join his work in the world.
Go where you can now.
You may not be able to leave your country or even your city right now. But you can go somewhere, even if that’s just to the person next door. All around us, people are hungry, sick, hurting, and dying. And you can go to them with practical help and the Good News of God’s love and forgiveness.
Jesus said, “I came to give life—life in all its fullness” (John 10:10 NCV). He offers that life to you—and he wants you to share that Good News with other people!
