This channel isn't about gear for the sake of gear. It's about what cameras teach you about seeing the world differently. The jobs, the creative breakthroughs, the burnout, the moments that make you remember why you picked up a camera in the first place.

This week got the chance to try out these Thypoc Simera C lenses on a documentary project.
I’ve seen sooooo much hype online about these lenses, mainly because lots of YouTube channels were sent them for free to test …
So I wanted to see what the hype was about and after using them on this project, I wasn’t immediately blown away, to me the biggest point is they are affordable and pretty small but in terms of filmmaking they wouldn’t have me rushing out the door.

A few behind the scenes from a recent commercial shoot.
It's easy to look at the final film and think it's all about the camera, but there's so much more that goes into creating these images. Lighting, teamwork, problem solving and constantly adapting to whatever the day throws at you.

Went out on the evening to snap up some of the incredible light we have been getting, there is nothing better than wondering around chasing the light with friends. Think this is a video in the making!

Porto surprised me.
I went there with one of the smallest cameras I’ve ever travelled with, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4, expecting convenience more than anything else.
But wandering through the streets, sitting by the river, jumping on trams and exploring without a big camera setup reminded me of something I’d forgotten…
Sometimes the best camera is the one that gets out of the way.
This entire film was captured on the Osmo Pocket 4 and it’s probably one of my favourite travel pieces I’ve made in a long time.
