Sword Coast Soundscapes

Soundscapes designed for adventures throughout the Sword Coast.

Greetings! I create ambient soundscapes on YouTube. These are primarily based around Table Top Roleplaying Games such as Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder. These soundscapes are designed to be played in the background while you play your games to add to immersion; but people other find uses for them, such as inspiration for writing, meditating, helping sleep etc.

I'm still here!

As some of you may know, I also work for Forteller Games as a sound designer, and i've been super busy over there working on a massive project (Tanares Adventures) which has taken up all of my time. I'm hoping for some time soon to work on more ambience stuff and finish the current D&D album.

So i'm still around! Just super busy with work at the moment.

Aside from doing this and working as a sound designer, I’m also in a hardcore punk band. We just dropped our latest album so, if shouty aggressive tracks are your thing, go check it out!

Sword Coast Soundscapes

Hey everyone! So there haven't been videos for the last few weeks as i've been rebuilding my studio. i'm happy to announce that it's all finished and i've been making some more soundscapes for us all!

We've just passed the half way mark on the Icespire Peak series, so I'll be uploading more of these as the weeks go on.

As a note for Discord users, you'll no doubt be aware that a lot of the old bots for playing music and soundscapes have stopped working. Over the last few months I've been lucky enough to work with a few other RPG composers to work as a collective to fill up a load of audio on a new bot -

soncraftbot.com/

There's a free version but also premium versions available (the money from the premium version is split between the composers involved). It's a new launch so there are lots of feature that will be added in the near future (including split soundscape and music bots for more control).

Hope to see some of you over there!

Sword Coast Soundscapes

Hey everyone!

Sorry for being away a lot, i've been working on a ton of freelance projects.

But back to our business - I have a new series starting soon! It's a play we've all been to and we all know and love - Phandalin!!!

The plan is to follow this up with one of the adventures based there!

And it's been submitted! Hoping for a January 31st release. I'll start uploading a few tracks on YouTube over the next few weeks!

Sword Coast Soundscapes

So here's the tracklist for the Saltmarsh series. 32 tracks in all! This is definitely my biggest release yet. In order to actually complete it i've decide to cut down the length of a lot of the tracks, so it'll work like this:

I'll release a few (5-10) as the usual 3 hour tracks on YouTube, and then the rest will be going up as 2 albums through all streaming sites (including YouTube Music).

For those that have played within Saltmarsh, is there anything you think I should be adding to this collection? As you can see i've gone with areas within the town of Saltmarsh as well as locations in the surrounding area. I may eventually release a 3rd album with tracks more specific to the adventures.

And we're uploaded!

Starting from August 9th the REMASTERED works from the last few years will be released as albums and EPs on all streaming services. Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Napster, YouTube Music, and a load of Ones we don't use in the West, but are huge in Africa, Korea, and China! Sword Coast Soundscapes is going worldwide!

The tracks on these services are shorter 7-minute versions, but are designed to loop, so just hit "loop single track" in your favourite streaming service.

I'll also be uploading the new versions to BandCamp, and the MP3 versions will be small enough to work in Roll20! This process takes a while so please be patient.

Also - I'm looking at working on an Alexa Skill...

Working on a little something...

Sword Coast Soundscapes

Hey everyone!

As you may have noticed, I haven't been keeping up with my schedule as of late. There are a few reasons for this. Firstly, i've been super busy in my day-to-day life. I was made redundant from my job a few months ago, and i've picked up a few other bits of work but they've taken me around the country for a few days at a time, so i've been away a lot. Secondly is the demonetisation of the channel. I believe that, in the future, Youtube will simply remove anything they deem as not worthwhile - starting with the demonetised channels.

So after a bit of thinking i've decided to restructure the channel a bit in order to get it remonetised (is that a word?) so it'll be safe, as well as allowing me to explore making more types of content. I'll still be primarily making ambience videos - that's why we're all here - and they'll still be weekly (give or take the occasional missed week), but i'll be looking at making other types of videos between them. Ideas I have are - videos on the creation of some soundscapes, some focussing on different areas of the design, and other as an overview of the entire process; Videos tearing apart modules into scenes to decide on what soundscapes will be needed to create a series from it; reviews and thoughts on modules themselves; player product reviews, such as dice I like, apps I find interesting etc.; and vlogs from conventions I go to.

Part of the reason for doing this is because it interests me, and the other part is that remonetisation requires me appearing on screen more. But once again, I know everyone is here for the ambience, and i'll never stop making them - i'm simply looking at expanding the content on the channel :)

Thoughts?
