🎵 Hey guys 🎵
I hope you are doing well. I shared a video yesterday, and it seems you don’t really appreciate it. I mean, I get much fewer likes than I normally do, and the watch time is also much worse. So I’m honestly curious: what’s wrong with it?
I just wanted to share a non-orchestral video this time. At the end of the video, I also show how I create certain synth sounds, such as lead and bass synth sounds.
Here’s the video I mentioned:

🎵 Hey Guys 🎵
My beta program, How to Choose Chords, is now available for my Patrons! This tool helps you find all possible chords (both diatonic and borrowed) within a given scale or mode. Please note: this is a beta version and may produce incorrect output.

🎵 AI music is unsustainable with consents 🎵
Hey Guys,
Did you hear about the Udio + UMG and Warner + Suno settlements? As you probably know, major labels sued AI platforms because they allegedly (obviously) trained their models on copyrighted works without permission. This is illegal, so to avoid paying literally billions of dollars to the major labels, Udio and Suno settled. Udio and UMG, and Warner and Suno want to build a consent-based model with opt-in and opt-out opportunities, and they want to pay artists who opt in.
What are the pitfalls of this system?
1; The infrastructure and the energy consumption are really expensive. These models heavily rely on GPUs, which are very pricey; besides, a big model requires multiple thousands of GPUs and a serious server infrastructure.
2; Gathering consents is an administrative nightmare, and even if a song is in a major label's catalog, they still can't use it for AI training without the consent of the artist because copyrights and moral rights belong to the artists.
3; The rejection from artists is overwhelming, but if the training dataset is too small because of the lack of consents, the models won't be able to produce quality output.
4; If there are millions of tracks in the training dataset, a single artist could earn at most a couple of dollars a month. Do they (do we) risk that AI music cannibalizes the market?
5; If there's a button that can generate endless music, it inflates the value of million-dollar musical brands. Quantity itself devalues music.
6; Generating an AI track will be more expensive, because if someone wants to use the track for commercial purposes, they have to pay an additional fee. The subscription fee only allows users to create music for personal use.
How could this really work? How could it be viable? I'm so skeptical about this... And I'm so happy that startups like Suno and Udio can no longer steal our work without consequences!
Quiz question:
Which of the following chords functions as a secondary leading-tone chord in the key of G major?

🎵 Hey guys! 🎵
I'm working on a program that can calculate all the diatonic chords and borrowed chords in any key. It's still a work in progress, but it's looking really promising. Patrons will get access once it's ready! Think of it as a “how to select chords” cheat sheet.

🎵 Hey Guys! 🎵
I created an instrumentation program that gives you a clear, organized overview of the most common orchestral instruments, including:
- Full written and sounding ranges
- Transpositions
- Clefs
- Standard number of players
- Short names and player terminology
It's only available for my Patrons. You can check it out here:
