Pope Francis: A Beacon of Humanity | 1936–2025

Pope Francis, the 266th Pope of the Catholic Church since 2013, passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 in the Vatican’s Domus Sanctae Marthae. According to official sources, the cause of death was a stroke and irreversible cardiac failure.

Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he was the first Latin American, the first Jesuit, and the first non-European Pope in over a millennium. His papacy was marked by humility, compassion, and courageous reform.

Pope Francis stood firmly for the poor, spoke out on climate change, and worked tirelessly to make the Church more inclusive and merciful. His life was an embodiment of love, justice, and service to humanity.
