Rowena and I wrote this in our living room late one night, exhausted. Though things had been comfortable for so long - we were arguing about nothing - struggling to speak honestly about the things we’d been avoiding. We felt conflicted—unable to see eye to eye, yet still bound by love. The song explores the path we might have taken had one of us left and how it might feel after all these years. Love can be fragile and should never be taken for granted

My debut directing project 'Nobody's Saviour' by Rowena Wise was an incredible experience of 'learning on the job'. I couldn't have made this without my AC - Will Pleasance 🙏
In the Often Broken music video we explored a mother/son relationship in an empty nest. We looked at all of the representations of past joy in an empty house.
Acceptance of joyful memories as only memories. Past joy not present pain. Maite Martin Samos (who stars in the clip) let us film on location in her house, Maite gave so much of herself to the clip and I am so very grateful. There were high emotions throughout the shoot and I was brought to tears by her performance multiple times. The pool in her backyard used to be the centrepoint of a joyful community, now abandoned. While it is no longer bustling it will always hold misty eyed memories of splashing and laughter. When it is time to move on sometimes you need a guiding hand and a gentle reminder to make new memories and not only cling to the old ones. Director Jesse Leaman also included his own family pool-side camcorder footage for the intro audio and outro sequence.
