From simple pleats to royal flounce – Dolly Jain, the drape expert has it all to her credit. She has developed a unique style of her own, reflecting the ancient traditions of India in a contemporary vocabulary. Her understanding of the structure of a piece of cloth and the innovative use of her skill has created a new classicism for Indian women across the globe.

In her experience, Dolly noticed that most women have a misconception that a sari limits their mobility. But the key, she finds, is effective draping – which is exactly what she has set out to accomplish. Dolly is recognised worldwide, for her notable drapes for her niche clientele, including an impressive list of names from the Indian film industry such as Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and many more.

Dolly began her work as a hobby in Calcutta more than a decade ago. This hobby gradually paved a way for various creative contemporary silhouettes she churns out today.

Someone once asked me, “What hurts you the most?”
And without even thinking, I said when a saree is cut and stitched.

It’s such a painful feeling… especially when the saree is in perfect condition and doesn’t need a single cut. To me, it feels like breaking a piece of my heart.

Of course, I understand if a saree is torn or damaged, we reuse the fabric in other forms so it doesn’t go to waste. That makes sense.
But what truly saddens me is how, nowadays, so many designers take a whole saree, cut it, stitch it into a fixed body shape, give it a size and a measurement… and still call it a “saree.”

My humble request to everyone please don’t call it a saree. Call it a gown, a drape-dress, or any of the thousands of other names you can give it. But a saree? No.

Because the real beauty of a saree is in its freedom. A saree is six yards of unstitched fabric that can flow, bend, and adapt to you. It’s not limited to one size or one person it embraces every body type, every soul, in its own graceful way.

A stitched piece can never give you that freedom. And for us Indians, a saree is never just fabric—it’s tradition, it’s emotion, it’s memories passed down through generations.

So please, don’t play with the emotions tied to a saree. A saree must remain a saree six yards of love, untouched and free.

Mornings are always a hustle, right? The moment the day starts, it feels like everyone in the house suddenly needs you—kids, husband, family—and in between all that, you barely get time for yourself. And what could feel more challenging in that rush than draping a saree, especially if you’re just starting out?

But here’s the good news—you don’t have to give up on sarees just because mornings are busy. In this video, I’ll show you a simple trick to save those precious 5 minutes you usually spend struggling with pleats and pins.

The idea is to pre-drape your saree the night before. Yes, just a few quick steps before going to bed, and the next morning all you’ll need is to zip-zap-zoom into your saree and you’re ready to step out with confidence and style.

So, let’s get started and make your mornings easier, without saying goodbye to your love for sarees!

Hey everyone!
This is my seventh video just for our awesome members, and trust me, this one’s extra special. Why? Because I’m sharing even more tips, tricks, and hacks to help you master the art of draping a saree—especially the tricky organza saree!

So, I picked organza fabric for this video. I know you’ve seen me rocking organza sarees lately, but I still get tons of questions like:

• How do you get the pleats just right?
• How wide should the pleats be? Narrow or broad?
• How many pleats should I make?
• Help! My pleats look like they’ve been through a tornado!

Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! In this video, I’ll show you:

• How to choose the perfect organza saree (so you don’t end up with a fabric that’s stiffer than your Monday morning mood)
• How wide your pleats should be (no more guessing games!)
• Whether to go for narrow or broad pleats
• How to carry the saree with style and confidence

Basically, I’m answering all those burning questions you’ve sent my way. By the end, you’ll be an organza saree pro—no more pleat panic!

If you find my videos helpful (and I hope you do!), please share this group with your friends, family, or anyone who’s ever wrestled with a saree and lost. Let’s make saree draping easy and fun for everyone!

And hey, if there’s another fabric or draping style you want me to cover, just let me know. I’m all ears (and pleats)!

Let’s keep draping—and keep smiling!

Do you ever feel stressed about wearing a stiff cotton saree? Worried the pleats will be messy or hard to manage? Do you often look for someone to help you with pleats.Trust me, you’re not alone. Cotton and starched sarees are stunning – but yes, they can be a little demanding too.

The good news? It’s not magic – it’s just about knowing the right technique and mastering it overtime. Think of it like handling kids – you need patience, a little pause here and there, and the right moves!

In today’s lesson, I’m going to show you how to tame your cotton sarees and make stunning pleats – all by yourself. No maid, no family member, no extra hands needed. Just you, your saree, and the right technique.

So, get ready to take notes and to learn the technique that’ll turn your fear of cotton sarees into confidence. Remember – every time you drape, you grow.

Much love, and happy draping!

Hey you guys!
It’s Friday again—and you know what that means… time for another draping session! 🎉 Today we are doing a beautiful drape, a little modern yet traditional and completely fab!

So… guess what I’m wearing? This dreamy underskirt made from 20 meters of pure chiffon! Yes, you heard that right—20 meters! It’s soft, flowy, super comfy, super light and has the perfect twirl factor. I actually twirl in the video—you’ll see how easy-breezy it is. 💃

This gorgeous piece is the newest addition to our D'Coat family and it comes in four amazing colors. It gives full princess vibes—but without that bulky, stuffy feel!

The whole idea behind this D' Coat was to help you bring out those beautiful heirloom sarees that have been lying in your attic—maybe from your mom, your grandma, or someone special—and give them a fresh, stylish twist.

Let’s be honest—we all want to stand out and feel special at every occasion. And sometimes, even designer pieces can’t give us that personal touch. That’s where this comes in! Just pick your favorite heirloom saree and match it with the chiffon D'Coat color you love—and boom, you’ve got a one-of-a-kind look that’s totally you.

In today’s video, I’m styling an authentic Kota Doria saree—and adding my own flair to it. You can do the same with your cherished pieces too!

So what are you waiting for?
Dig out that saree, pick your color, watch the video, and let’s get twirling! 💫

Love you all always! ❤️
Can’t wait to see your magic!

You know, I’ve worked with so many kinds of sarees—organza, silks—but now we’re leaning back into chiffon. And honestly, there’s something about chiffon that feels like comfort. It’s light, it flows, and it makes you feel like you’re being gently held. Perfect for brunches, dates, celebrations—but also for quieter moments.

My daughter studied at MGD, and I’ve been in and out of Jaipur so many times… and truly, who wore chiffon better than Maharani Gayatri Devi? That effortless grace—that stayed with me.

And my mother—she’s a die-hard Hema Malini Ji’s fan. Every time she and my dad went out for a movie, she’d wear a chiffon saree and say, “Today I feel like Hema Malini ” And she really did. She glowed in them—elegant, timeless, confident.

What I love most about chiffon is its versatility. You can dress it up with pearls—just a few strands or the right earrings—and suddenly it’s festive and special. Or wear it plain and soft, just as it is, for a day that needs stillness and ease. Chiffon doesn’t scream for attention—it quietly holds space for you.

So, now it’s hot and humid, and it’s time for us to get back to our chiffons - FOR IT’s CHIFFONS now.....
