CmozMaker explores wearable and embedded electronics through practical ESP32-based builds that bridge textiles, sensors, and real-world interaction—designed to be taught, worn, and reproduced.
💡Here you'll find tutorials, tips, and ideas to fuel your creative projects—whether it’s wearable tech, fashion tech, prototyping, or just exploring cool components. We’re all about inspiring & empowering makers like you!
Longer written tutorials are at my website and detailed guides on Instructibles.
💜 Components, hobby electronics, and fabrics from my little maker store www.TinkerTailor.ca. I started this because it's so hard to find components for fashion tech makers!!
Want to dive deeper into wearable tech? Check out my book *The Ultimate Guide to Informed Wearable Technology* is perfect for beginners—no prior skills needed!

🎉 The CMozMaker Foundations Playlist is HERE — and it's the course I wish I'd had when I started.
22 episodes. Five tiers. One complete wearable build at the end.
If you've ever wanted to learn ESP32 but didn't know where to start — or if you've been making for a while but feel like your code is held together with duct tape and hope — this playlist was built for you.
ESP32 for Beginners: Wearable Electronics & Fashion Tech — Complete Course takes you from zero to a battery-powered, touch-reactive, LED wearable built into real fabric. No prior electronics experience required.
Here's what's covered across 22 episodes:
⚡ What a microcontroller is and why the ESP32 is the right chip for wearables
⚡ PlatformIO setup — the professional toolchain from Episode 1
⚡ Voltage, current, Ohm's Law, breadboards, and GPIO — the fundamentals that make everything else make sense
⚡ I2C, SPI, Serial, and WiFi — every communication protocol you'll actually use
⚡ WS2812B NeoPixels — wiring, power maths, animations, and how to sew them into fabric
⚡ Conductive fabric and conductive thread — the materials that make electronics wearable
⚡ Capacitive touch sensing with zero extra components — just wire and fabric
⚡ LiPo batteries, charge management, and on-body safety rules
⚡ Debouncing, state machines, and clean C++ project structure that scales
The capstone build in Episode 22 brings all of it together: NeoPixels, conductive fabric touch pad, LiPo power chain, and a four-state state machine — running untethered, on a garment, from a battery the size of a credit card.
All components — conductive fabrics, WS2812B LEDs, LiPo modules, and more — are available at Tinkertailor.ca 🧵
👇 Start with Episode 1 — link in bio / comments below.
Whether you're a complete beginner, a maker levelling up, or a sewist who's been curious about electronics — this is where you start.
Drop a 🔥 in the comments if you're in. I'd love to know where you're starting from.

Get your ePaper on! I have a mini series of projects using an ePaper screen and they are a lot of fun to work with! Have you used them in your projects?

It’s been a whirlwind lately — new projects brewing, fresh ideas taking shape, and a brand‑new studio space coming together piece by piece. But behind the scenes, I’ve also been building something special for the maker community.
I’ve been working on a brand‑new application designed specifically for MAKERS, and honestly… I can’t lie… it’s awesome. Like, I can’t believe this didn’t exist already awesome.
This tool is all about making your creative builds smoother, faster, and way more fun. Whether you’re tinkering, prototyping, inventing, or just chasing that “what if” idea at 2 a.m., this software is built to have your back.
And guess what — a full demo video is coming soon.
If you love hands‑on projects, clever workflows, and tools that actually make sense for real makers, you’re going to want to see this.
Stay tuned — this is going to be good.

It's now 2026!
In 2025 - due to a few factors that I will talk about in April this year - I decided to maximise my efforts to get my content, projects, and hardware fun on YouTube. It's been so rewarding, and I'm loving the engagement. My most memorable part was the live stream that was a bit of a fun disaster 🤓. I had kind people helping me fix my audio feed. That was so supportive and one of the best experiences I've had on Youtube!
🎉 Wow… what a journey! I started this channel back on June 28, 2010 — that’s 5,641 days of creating, sharing, and learning together. #MyYearOnYouTube2025
But - I didn't post regularly or share properly on YouTube. So 2025 is the year that I properly launched!!
Here is a summary of 2025!
✨ This year’s highlight? My top video was “Timer Glove Ensures You Never Miss Your Flight!” — with 8,888 views, 24 likes, 61 hours of watch time, and 85 new subscribers. Thank you for making that project fly!
The project I use the most and just love is the reminder wrist with ePaper. I'll be revisiting this and making one that is more stylish so I wear it more often.
🚀 My first video of 2025 was “Platform IO Getting Started for Arduino & ESP32”, and since then I’ve kept busy replying to 74 comments, hearting 23, and posting 8 community updates — because connecting with you is the best part of this journey.
🌍 Our community is truly global, with amazing viewers from India 🇮🇳, Indonesia 🇮🇩, and Pakistan 🇵🇰. I'd love to see more engagement from Canadians, Americans, and my fellow Brits from when I lived there the last 20+ years!
Most of you tune in between ages 18–44, and I love seeing the activity spike on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
💡 Thank you for being part of this adventure — whether you’re here for tutorials, projects, or just the fun of making. Here’s to more builds, more ideas, and more shared creativity in 2026!

I filmed a quick behind the scenes of my video coming out this saturday!
Hooking up an OLED and an ESP32 is super quick and fun, we look at the hook up, see some examples, and near the end of the video - I show you a mega fun improvement to take your project to THE NEXT LEVEL!
All code is provided as well as hook up diagrams so you will be well supported in this build.

I've been experimenting with a little ESP32 C3 mini board that has a 5x5 matrix.
In case you missed it - I have a 3 minute build for my quickest and coolest fashion tech piece. I also have a supporting coding video too for it - so I've got you covered for sure! Let me know what other ideas you'd like to see or if there is a challenge we can do together!
You can get this board and support my work at my little fashion tech maker shop Tinker Tailor, based in Canada: www.tinkertailor.tech/product/dazzling-esp32-c3-de… I'm adding new items all the time as long as they are used for making wearable tech! So it has components, to fabrics - everything under one roof for the wearable tech community.

I've been working on ESP32 circuits for wearables and thought one of the most used circuits is the ESP32 with WS2812b - lights / neopixels. It adds so much fun to your fashion tech projects.
There are three videos you should watch if you're learning how to connect your ESP32 with outputs. One video is about adding light to your esp32 project: https://youtu.be/Wf8HES75ies then this goes a step furthor, and we look at using our phone to alter what we see these lights doing: https://youtu.be/j6XMTufDMRg but if you want to take a step to the start, I look at setting up platformIO for your ESP32 circuits https://youtu.be/FDFxWScKswU
Let me know what else we should look at with our ESP32 circuits! Join me on this journey.
