ROYAL TALES
The man with the greatest patience in the world turned 77 yesterday!
Charles Philip Arthur George — that is, Prince Charles of England — celebrated his birthday yesterday.
Born on 14 November 1948 as the first child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Charles turned 77 yesterday.
Many people who loved Diana hated Charles,
because he married someone while already having a lover,
and even after marriage continued that relationship.
Because of this, Charles became one of the most criticized men in the world.
But on the other hand, what I saw in this story was a deeply sincere lover — Charles.
Charles first met Camilla in 1971 at a nightclub.
She was older, not exceptionally beautiful, yet Charles fell in love with her.
Just like many men in our country, Charles never had the courage to go against his mother’s wishes.
So he kept his love in his heart and married the bride chosen by his family —
the most beautiful woman in the world, Diana.
Their wedding is still one of the most-watched broadcasts in history.
Even with the breathtakingly beautiful 19-year-old Princess Diana as his wife,
Charles could not forget his love.
At one point the Sun newspaper even questioned on its front page,
“Is Charles crazy to go after a plain, older woman when he has the most beautiful woman in the world at home?”
They had two princes.
The world stood by Diana.
Charles and Camilla were insulted worldwide.
The Queen refused to give her blessing.
Charles became one of the most disliked figures on earth.
Eventually Diana divorced him, after the world turned against him.
But even after all this — even when the entire world hated him —
Charles could not let go of his love.
He loved Camilla secretly from the world.
To stand by a woman who was mocked for her looks, her age, her social acceptance —
someone who seemed to match him in no way —
that is not an easy thing.
Even the Queen was astonished that this relationship could not be broken, no matter what went wrong.
Despite everything falling apart, Charles’ love for Camilla endured.
Finally, eight years after Diana’s death,
with thousands watching outside Buckingham Palace,
Charles married Camilla — without hesitation.
Prince Charles waited 45 years to marry the woman he loved.
He waited 53 years to become king.
I have never seen anyone with such patience for love.
For someone who loves Diana, this entire story may seem cruel,
a betrayal —
and from Diana’s side, she truly was the victim.
But in the pure concept of unwavering love,
the name Charles Philip Arthur George deserves to be written in gold in world history.
No matter how some people see it,
the love story of Charles and Camilla is a beautiful epic.
Charles is, truly, a remarkable lover.
So shouldn’t we wish a happy 77th birthday to this patient and devoted man? ❤️

Princess Diana’s Final Phone Call that the Princes Missed
On August 30, 1997, Princess Diana made a phone call to check on her sons — 15-year-old Prince William and 12-year-old Prince Harry. At the time, the young princes were spending their summer holiday in Scotland with other members of the royal family, while Diana herself was on vacation in France with her partner, Dodi Al-Fayed.
When the phone call came through, the princes were busy playing with their cousins and didn’t really want to interrupt their fun to talk. They just wanted to end the call quickly and go back to playing.
So, Prince William said, “Goodbye… see you later,” and hung up the phone in a hurry. Neither of them knew that this would be the last time they would ever hear their mother’s voice.
Just a few hours later, shortly after midnight, Princess Diana tragically lost her life in a devastating car crash in Paris.
Twenty years later, in 2017, during the documentary “Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy,” both princes opened up about that final phone call and the deep regret they still carry.
Prince William said:
“If I’d known what was about to happen, I wouldn’t have been so casual about that phone call. That call still sticks in my mind—it’s something I’ll never forget.”
Prince Harry felt even more haunted by it than his older brother. He revealed that he didn’t even get the chance to properly speak with her that night. The thought of it drove him into deep grief and depression for years.
He said:
“Looking back on it now, it’s incredibly hard. I’ll regret that phone call for the rest of my life. If I had known that was going to be the last time I’d talk to her, the conversation would have been so, so different.”
So, the woman who was once the most beloved figure of the 1980s and 1990s, known as “The Rose of Wales,” and the cherished mother of the future King of England, left this world in an instant.
Her story reminds us of something deeply human:
No matter who you are — even if you’re a prince — never take your loved ones for granted, because regret stays with you for a lifetime.
