Environmental conservation requires collective action, says Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
The Panchjanya magazine organised the ‘Good Governance Dialogue: Mumbai Sankalp’ to facilitate discussions on various dimensions of good governance, development, economy, environment, culture and social transformation. The Maharashtra Tourism Department supported the programme as a sponsor. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the growing impact of climate change and the need for effective measures to protect the environment and curb pollution. He emphasised the importance of expanding the use of clean and renewable energy, conserving water resources, preserving soil fertility and taking effective steps to prevent water pollution. Maharashtra’s rich natural heritage, whether it is water resources and diverse ecosystems is one of the state’s greatest tourism assets. Protecting this heritage while promoting sustainable tourism, he said, must remain at the heart of Maharashtra’s future tourism development.
On Gandhi Jayanti, we remember and honour Mahatma Gandhi, whose principles of truth, non-violence and peaceful resistance inspired a nation and continue to resonate across generations.
