The Gardener's Garden

Hi everyone! Welcome to The Gardener's Garden! I’m Matt and I’m a gardening enthusiast growing in Central Florida, USDA zone 10a.

I’ve got a passion for plants & I can’t wait to share my garden with you!

The Gardener's Garden

Hey everyone, hope you all had yet another great week! I just wanted to give you a heads‑up that I won’t be posting a long‑form video this weekend. I did go plant shopping and picked up some awesome plants for a refresh project… but I wasn’t able to get them in the ground. I held off because we had some chilly nights here in Orlando. The temperature dipped into the mid to low 30s, and I didn’t want to stress the plants out.

As a consolation, here are some update pictures of my fall front planters. The multicolored coleus, white begonias, and wire vines are still going strong! They’re definitely a bright spot in my front yard garden at the moment. The third picture is the sunset from Friday night (01/02/26)!!

I hope you’re all staying warm, I hope you had a happy New Year, and I’ll see you all in the next video!

Hey everyone! For those who celebrate, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I’m taking this week off to spend time with friends and family here in California, so there won’t be a long‑form video this weekend.

I’ve been staying at my brother’s place the past few days… he has an absolutely incredible indoor plant collection (photos below). It’s been a great trip, and I hope your week has been just as good. Wishing you all a fantastic week, and I’ll see you in the next video!

The Gardener's Garden

Hey everyone, I hate to skip two weekends in a row, but I won’t be posting a long-form video this weekend either.

I made it to the garden center this week and picked up some beautiful shrubs for my front yard garden, but I didn’t have time to get outside and film. Below is a sneak peek picture of one of the shrubs… I can’t wait to share more about it, and I’m excited to get them in the ground!

I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll see you in the next video.

For those of you in the states, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🦃

I flew out to San Diego, California on Tuesday to spend the holidays with my family. It’s been a great last few days. Here’s a picture of my mom, sister and me from an early Thanksgiving morning walk. If you look closely, you can see people running the Encinitas Turkey Trot 5K race behind us on the Pacific Coast Highway… the second picture shows a better angle of all the runners! There were over 5,000 participants!

It was such a fun way to kick off the holiday. With all that family time and activities, I’ll be taking this weekend off and won’t be posting a long-form video. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll see you all in the next video!

The Gardener's Garden

Hey everyone, just a heads up… I won’t be posting a long-form video this weekend. I took some time off and spent the week with my mom and siblings in Joshua Tree, California, celebrating her 70th birthday.

Here are a few pictures from our trip. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it, the national park is stunning, especially if you enjoy camping and hiking!

I filmed some short-form videos that I’ll be posting over the next week or so, so keep an eye out for those! Hope you all have a great rest of your week, and I’ll see you in the next video!

The Gardener's Garden

Hey everyone, just a heads up… I won’t be posting a long form video this weekend. My goal was to plant up my front porch containers, but I struggled to find plants that inspired me. I visited four different garden centers this week and still couldn’t find anything that felt right for fall.

Similar to my garden, the plants at the garden centers were looking a little tired too. Maybe you’re experiencing something similar where you live? I’m hoping the fall annuals start arriving in the next few weeks… I’d love to get my hands on some Beacon impatiens, violas, and pansies… maybe even some Supertunias and Superbenas for my front landscape too! In any case, here’s a picture of a beautiful pink rose from my cousin’s garden.

I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll see you in the next video!

The Gardener's Garden

Hey everyone! Unfortunately, I won’t be posting a long form video this weekend. The weather wasn’t cooperating, and I wasn’t able to get out into the garden to film a project this week.

I’ll probably do a little garden cleanup this weekend and check out a few local garden centers… hopefully the fall plants have started to arrive!

I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll see you in the next video!

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

I wanted to share some pictures of the pineapple jalapeño margaritas I made using my homegrown pineapple-infused tequila… the jalapeños came from my garden too. The infused tequila turned out perfectly, and the drinks were delicious!

I hope everyone in the U.S. has an amazing Labor Day, and I hope you all have a great week. See you all in the next video!

🍍🌶️ Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita Recipe:

• Tajín on the rim & ice in the glass
• 1.5 oz pineapple-infused tequila
• Fill the remaining room in the glass with margarita mixer
• Squeeze of lime
• Garnish with sliced jalapeños in the glass and a lime wedge on the rim

See prior community post for Pineapple Infused Tequila Recipe.

Hey everyone, no long-form video this weekend. The weather didn’t cooperate, and thunderstorms kept me from filming outdoors.

But check out the pictures below of my big homegrown pineapple that I cut up this morning! I used some to make pineapple-infused tequila for margaritas too!

Pineapple Tequila Infusion Recipe:
Fill a mason jar about ¾ full with pineapple and top it off with blanco tequila. Store it in the fridge, infusing it for about 5–7 days. The longer you leave it, the more flavorful it becomes! Once it’s ready, strain it through a fine mesh strainer to remove any impurities.

It’s a really easy process, and the tequila tastes amazing on its own or in cocktails. It turns out perfect every time!

Hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll see you in the next video!
