One thing I never hear people talk about is how difficult it can be when your life finally starts to improve after years of struggling, especially financially. When you have spent so much time worrying about bills, stressing over money, and simply trying to get by, you dream of the day things get better. Then that day finally comes. You are happier, doing better financially, able to take vacations, buy things you enjoy, and experience a level of freedom you did not have before. But with that often comes an unexpected feeling of guilt. You look around and see family members and friends who are still struggling, and even though their situation is not your fault, you almost feel bad for enjoying the blessings you worked so hard to achieve. You know you deserve it because of everything you have been through, yet part of you still feels like you do not. Sometimes you try to help people, but they take advantage of your kindness, fail to appreciate it, or even become jealous and resentful. That is something that can be incredibly discouraging, and it is not talked about enough. It also helps me understand why some financially successful people choose not to help family members, friends, or even their own children in certain situations. Too often their generosity is met with entitlement, disrespect, or jealousy. People will poke at you, including family and friends. They will push and push until they finally hit a nerve, and the moment you respond, they want to throw God in your face. I strive to do right and live right, but the battles behind the scenes can be intense. If I were not following God, I might have gone back to my old ways. Thankfully, I never even considered taking a drink, smoking, or turning to anything else. Instead, I cried out to God. If you’re going through something similar, where people are hitting you where it hurts and saying things that cause real pain, keep going into God’s presence. Even when people manipulate you, misunderstand you, or use your faith against you, keep seeking Him. Life can be wild. You can pay your adult child’s phone bill for over a year, pick them up when they are being mistreated in a relationship, lend them money when they are struggling financially, let them live with you rent free while secretly saving their monthly rent money for when they move out, take them on an all expenses paid trip, pay for their health insurance as an adult, save them thousands of dollars by doing vehicle repairs yourself or connecting them with someone trustworthy, spend hours finding the best deals on parts to help them save money, offer advice to help them avoid painful mistakes, and do countless other things out of love.

Yet sometimes, despite all of that, they may still speak negatively about you or fail to appreciate your efforts. Meanwhile, there are parents who do very little for their children, yet still receive their love, respect, and admiration.

Life is not always fair, and love is not always returned the way we hope. Sometimes the good you do goes unnoticed, unappreciated, or misunderstood. That is one of the painful realities of life.

I have no plans of stopping. I plan to keep creating until the day I die. You will be hard pressed to find someone more consistent than me. If you have friends and family who see your content every day because you consistently show up and post, pay attention. Some people will support and share content from complete strangers, yet never share yours simply because they know you personally.

Do not let that discourage you. Keep grinding, keep creating, and keep showing up. The people who are meant to support your message will find it. Stay focused on your purpose and keep moving forward.
