Our goal is to fulfill the great commission which was given to the disciples before Jesus Christ’s ascension into Heaven. (Matthew 28:18-20) Going out door-to-door soul-winning is the first and most important work we can do as Christians.
New Age Spiritualism has really gotten out of hand here in Kauai. I attempted to give the gospel to this hippy last Kapaa art night, and we couldn't even get past the simplicity of how the Bible teaches that we have all sinned. (Romans 3:10,23)
From arguing about the definition of the word sin, then where the Bible came from; and no matter how many facts I shared with him, he had made up his mind that they can't be true. Like most people, it seems that he drew his conclusion and then “found” evidence to back up his preconceived ideas - confirmation bias at its best.
This is why Jesus says in Matthew 7:6 “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”
When I go out evangelizing, I notice the people who most often misrepresent or misquote the Bible are “professed Christians”. The easiest way to see if they KNOW what they are talking about is to simply ask them “chapter and verse”.
You will find very quickly how few “Christians” KNOW what the Bible says, especially when it comes to salvation. We don’t need to put them down, but it is important to correct them so they KNOW what the Bible TRULY says. That is the whole basis of this Ministry, (2 Timothy 4:2)
Don't be that Christian who sticks their head in the sand when they hear the preacher talking about sin and damnation. You are the problem with society and the downfall of it, what's the saying, "EVIL WINS WHEN GOOD MEN DO NOTHING”.
As the people of God, let us not shut our ears to the evils of this world; but call it out for what it is. “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, AND SHEW MY PEOPLE THEIR TRANSGRESSION, AND THE HOUSE OF JACOB THEIR SINS.” Isaiah 58:1
Hopefully by now if you have been following this ministry for any length of time, you see the importance of CHOOSING your SUFFERING. Jesus was known as a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3)
He expects those who CHOOSE to serve Him with their lives to be willing to SUFFER shame for His name “and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, REJOICING that they were counted worthy to SUFFER SHAME FOR HIS NAME.” Acts 5:40-41
Remember, when you CHOOSE a life of servitude to Jesus it WILL come with SUFFERING. “Yea, and all that will live godly IN CHRIST JESUS SHALL SUFFER persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:12
So you call yourself a christian, let me ask you something; when was the last time someone said you acted like Jesus Christ? You do know that's what Christian means right? “Little Christ” meaning you do the things that HE did: like preaching the gospel to strangers (intentionally) and preaching against the false religious leaders where you're from. Have you started training other brothers and sisters to do the same?
One of the main characteristics of being a christian is being selfless, many professed christians go around expressing how religious they are by going to church and praying openly (i.e Matthew 6) and yet fail in what Jesus clearly commanded us to do.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you have to do the works of God to be saved or maintain salvation. Most people don't even know there are only 3 examples in the Bible of the word “christian” and it was used as a derogatory term in belittling believers who “followed” Jesus (Acts 11:26, 26:28, 1 Peter 4:16)
1 Peter 4:16) “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.”
Stop pursuing your own passions and goals and start being about the Fatherʻs business, by preaching the kingdom of heaven to people. One day you ought to ask yourself, are you going through the motions of what the church is telling you to do? Or are you selflessly preaching salvation by grace through faith in your community? Is that what people know you for? If so, then you can be called a christian.
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” - Matthew 16:24-25
What makes people think if their society continues in degeneracy that they will receive blessings from God and not condemnation? If you have ever read the Bible (cover to cover) you will see a constant theme of God destroying nations that refuse to get right with HIM. 1/3 of the prophets preaching is toward their own nation, and also the other nations walking after their own desires.
When was the last time you heard ANY of the pastors here preach against the sins of Kauai? Do you not believe Kauai has any sins? That's when you need to do some real introspection, when the pastors say “peace, peace” when there is no peace.
“For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 6:13-15
Remember, once the church starts sounding like an echo chamber for only the prosperity of its people and not the judgment of God, you can know the church has gone apostate.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4
We now live in a world where people are being taught to keep up with appearances even in times of hardship. “How are you doing?” Put on a nice smile and say you are alright, when that is the farthest thing from the truth. Depression is a real problem in our society that needs to be addressed.
Christians are unfortunately following the guidance of this world, by running to pharmaceutical treatment (aka antidepressants) when they need to be running to the Lord for comfort. We need to remember that the world has nothing real to offer us when it comes to the things of the Spirit.
Kauai is dealing with a spiritual problem and it needs a spiritual remedy. Still don't think there's any problem? Why do people on Kauai struggle with suicide?
As it says in the Honolulu Civil Beat: “With an average of 16 suicide deaths per year, Kauai has the highest suicide rate per capita among the state’s counties” - (5/15/2020)
Don't believe them? Look up the depression rate on the hawaiidepartmentofhealth.gov website.
At the end of the day there is no hope in this world without Jesus Christ; that is why so many people deal with depression here on Kauai.
“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” - Ephesians 2:12-13
The answers have always been right there for us. Let us christians help those who are in need of hope and show them a better way.
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” - Romans 8:18
Imagine a place where people go and make an open profession of Faith in Jesus Christ ALONE for salvation and not mixing in works. They understand salvation as a FREE GIFT and they WANT to honor the Lord by doing what is most pleasing to him - not because they HAVE to maintain their salvation. They do this because they love him as John 14:15 shows us, that is what a true new testament church looks like.
It’s ironic how churches on Kauai who hold to faith always being accompanied by works (aka works-based salvation) accept virtually anyone into their services. These churches basically have no standards for their members. I have seen KNOWN drunks, drug addicts, and OPEN fornicators being welcomed with open arms by these “holier than thou” pastors with no expectation to clean up their lives before coming and fellowshiping with the saints.
Happy Independence day! Ironic how we celebrate this holiday every year without understanding that as one empire falls a new one comes in its place. We as christians shouldnʻt be “proud” to be part of a nation that is trying to conquer the world. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying donʻt be happy about where you're from or where you live; but, to celebrate the modern day empire is a stretch.
You may be thinking, “But David, you wouldn't have all these freedoms if it wasn’t for America”, well actually the Bible teaches “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” - 2 Corinthians 3:17 So, my liberties come from the one True King Jesus Christ.
While I'm on the subject…didn't America overthrow the Hawaiian monarchy? Exactly. So, just as Daniel had to cohabitate with the Babylonians, we christians should do our best to “live peaceably with all men.” Oh, and just in case you accuse me of not being patriotic, let me show you how God sees things: “All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.” - Isaiah 40:17

Come as you are and stay you please, that’s the message they are promoting. When did the church lose the basic STANDARD of chastity and sobriety? How unfortunate the state of Christianity is today when people will EXPECT open fornication and drug abuse amongst professed believers. Have they no shame! (See 1 Corinthians 5)
