Epstein’s Manhattan mansion reportedly had a statue of a Black woman hanging from a rope in the atrium, dressed in a wedding gown. Let that sink in.

That image alone should disturb every one of us.

At the same time, we can’t ignore the bigger issue. Young Black girls — especially between the ages of 9 and 18 — are disproportionately represented among child trafficking victims in this country. While Blacks make up a smaller percentage of the overall population, studies have shown Black children account for a much higher percentage of identified sex trafficking victims. That’s not a coincidence. That’s a crisis.

Cities like New York have long been known as hubs where vulnerable youth are targeted. And too often, our girls are the ones falling through the cracks.

There are still unanswered questions as to their fate.

This isn’t about gossip. This isn’t about conspiracy. This is about our community. Our daughters. Our future.

We have to pay attention. We have to protect our own. Each man standing atop his section of the wall keeping watch for enemies. Be vigilant Israel. This is bigger than you think. Shalom.
