this is a song that on the surface is very fun & HOT but it’s also a response to the idea that femmes can’t win no matter what. when i was younger, i was told that wearing makeup and caring “too much” about clothing, personal style, etc., were for lesser girls and women. i was made to feel ashamed for being passionate about these “vapid” and “girly” things. however, these were legitimate artistic expressions that are not only valid, but a beautiful part of who i am and what i enjoy. i LOVED taking pictures with my friends and always will. i loved feeding into the narrative that was decided for me and saying f*** you to it. if “you’re too much” was a song, it would be this one 💋 GO TAKE HOT PHOTOS LIFE IS SHORT BABE.
