I help people find easy ways to create stunning eco-friendly gardens that will be the envy of the whole neighborhood.
If you are a gardener and want to remove your lawn to replace it with native plants, you'e in the right place. Our ecosystem needs home gardeners to step in and start planting butterfly gardens, pollinator meadows, and native trees. We can't do it alone, but together our gardens can provide a home for bees, butterflies, birds, and more wildlife than we ever thought!

CAN WE CUT BACK OUR STEMS YET??
It's your choice. But this goldfinch is eating seeds from black-eyed susan that I left up since September. While the stems are small and not suitable for most bee species to nest in, they were still valuable to this beautiful male goldfinch.

WOW HORNET'S NEST! We removed what appears to be a bald-faced hornet nest in a SMALL magnolia tree. This was right on a path where my family (including small kids) had been hanging out all last summer! I must have ducked under this branch a dozen times, my head just 10 inches away! They are pretty good at concealing themselves!
No one got stung, we only found out about it after the leaves fell.
I'm not a professional, so please always look for pro advice when removing ANY nests of any kind. In this case it seemed that these hornets had been long gone, or long dead, from the freezing winter, and it was safe to dispose of.
NEW VIDEO COMING UP!
Hint: (any native plants out there looking their BEST in February?)
