✨NEW VIDEO has just landed! ✨

Friends, Meet the Orizuru! Also known as the paper crane! One of the most classic origami designs out there and one that brings back many fond memories of the fun, chatter and good times I cherished with loved ones.

I’ve folded a number of paper cranes over the years. In trains and planes with friends to pass the time as we travelled across Japan, to sitting at home with family as we folded these for decor in the lead up to my wedding.

There is something so mindful and magical about taking a simple sheet of paper and turning it into something creative and whimsical, and that folks, is the Art of Origami!

Why hello there! Wow, it’s been a minute! I just wanted to drop by and say hey, and also let you know that I’m officially back next week with a new video headed your way ✨

A couple of months ago, I hit a slump with my creativity. So I decided to give myself some grace, take a leaf out of Elizabeth Gilbert’s book “Big Magic” and “follow my curiosities” instead, as she wisely puts it.

Taking some time away to nurture both myself and my creativity and to pour some love into a few projects that were sitting on the back bench for a while, has been amazing! Surprisingly, it’s also brought a lot of clarity to my vision for this space and has led me to what I like to call, some pretty exciting “light bulb” moments!

I’ve got a few new projects “bubbling” away behind the scenes (see what I did there 😏) and I’m looking forward sharing them soon!

In the meantime, I hope you’re keeping well and maybe these musings of mine will inspire you to take some time to follow your own curiosities and see where it leads you.

Lighting it up✨ as I celebrate another trip around the sun today! Here’s to being little bit older, a little bit bolder, and perhaps a teeny tiny bit wiser too? 😜

But definitely a LOT more blessed for having so many wonderful people walk with me on this adventure of life. And yes- that includes all of you folks! This year I’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible community we’ve built together here at Life of Kotts and I appreciate YOU 😌

I often get asked where this Tintin print is from. We actually came across it during our honeymoon when we were travelling across Europe. It was in a small shop called La Boutique Tintin in Brussels, Belgium.

Did you know that Belgium is the home of Tintin? The Tintin comics were originally written by Hergé in Brussels.

Anyway, we fell in love with it. Tintin with Snowy, and all the comics spilling out of his hands. We thought it’d make the perfect addition to the future reading nook we were hoping to create in our home.

At that point we hadn’t even got the keys to our place, or moved in, so it was officially the first thing we ever bought for our home!
