Guest workers residence permit change!
New decree approved today, starting from tomorrow no new applications can be submitted for guest worker residence permit. It sounds alarming, but is not, read everything please. No other permit type has been affected.
More details below:
- How does it affects people who planned to apply to this type of permit?
You cannot apply to it anymore. Need to look for another options.
- How does it affects people who had an application in progress?
If the application was properly filed and paid before the cutoff date (5th of June, today), processing should continue normally.
- What happens with people who already have a valid Guest Worker Residence Permit?
The extension (renewal) will be handled according to the previously applicable legislation, not the new restriction on new applications.
In other words, starting from today this residence permit is cancelled, it cannot be used any longer. However, people who already have it are not affected by the change. No other type of permit has been affected.
