Sierra Leone national men's football team, Leone Stars completed their first training sessions this evening in Casablanca, Morocco.

The team is in preparation for their opening 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match slated for Wednesday, November 15, against the Walia Ibex of Ethiopia.

Meanwhile, the technical team has called up Alpha Bedoh Conteh to replace Mohamed Buya Turay who withdrew from the team due to personal reasons.

Conteh's club in the Bulgarian top-tier league, Lokomotiv Plovdiv confirmed his invite to the Leone Stars Stars squad on Sunday evening.

The win was a satisfactory result for Amidu Karim’s men who were determined and excited to play for their country under the watchful eye of the new technical team

Odense Boldklub forward, Turay broke the deadlock just before the hour mark when he capitalized on a well-executed penalty kick which he swiftly converted to earn Sierra Leone the lead in the 25th minute of action.

Benin came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Sierra Leone in an international friendly match at Stade Khouribga in Casablanca Morocco.

Mohamed Buya Turay put Leone Stars ahead in the first half, but Benin got their equalizer late in the second half, leveling the score 1-1.

The Leone Stars will take on Somalia on Tuesday 17th October in their next friendly match.

Sierra Leone senior national men's football team, Leone star has jetted off to Guinea Bissau for match-day six of the AFCON23 qualifiers slated for Monday 11th September 2023.

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone will engage the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau in the final group A match despite having no chance of qualifying for the tournament.

However, eight foreign-based players are expected to join Keister's squad in Guinea Bissau.

The match will be played at the Estádio 24 de Setembro in the city of Bissau.
