Major Political Boost for BJP in Thanamandi: Prominent Leaders from Shahdra Sharief & Adjoining Areas Join Party

In a major political development, several prominent persons from Shahdra Sharief and adjoining areas of the Thanamandi Assembly constituency today resigned from the National Conference, PDP, and Congress and formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the BJP District Headquarters, Rajouri.

The new entrants were accorded a warm welcome into the BJP fold by BJP District President Rajouri, Shri Dev Raj Sharma. The Newly Joining people were led by senior BJP leader, DDC Thanamandi and Administrator Auqaf Rajouri, Shri. Abdul Qayoom Mir, reflecting the growing public confidence in the BJP’s policies and leadership.

The occasion was attended by BJP District General Secretary Shri. Pushpinder Gupta, District Secretary Shri. Radhish Sharma, Adv. Amit Sharma, Samreen Khan, Mandal President Shri. Desraj Desa, Mandal President Smt. Shikha Bali, along with a large number of party workers and supporters.

Addressing the gathering, BJP District President Shri Dev Raj Sharma said that the joining of prominent and respected personalities from Shahdra Sharief and nearby areas is a clear indication that the people have rejected the false promises and misleading politics of the National Conference (NC). He stated that people are now opting for BJP’s vision of development, transparency, and inclusive governance. He emphasized that the BJP is committed to ensuring equal development of all regions and communities, and assured the new entrants of full respect, participation, and opportunities to work for the welfare of the people of Thanamandi and Rajouri district.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Thanamandi Shri Abdul Qayoom Mir stated that the BJP is the only political party that has consistently worked for peace, progress, and empowerment at the grassroots level. He said that people are increasingly rejecting divisive and hollow politics and are joining the BJP to be part of a positive, development-oriented change. He welcomed the new members and expressed confidence that their experience would further strengthen the party in the region.

Budhal (Rajouri), January 11:

Former Cabinet Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and UT Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, undertook an extensive tour of the remote areas of the Budhal Assembly Constituency, including Samaut, Gabbar, Dandod, and Rajnagar, and interacted with the local residents to assess their problems.

During the interactions, the people raised serious concerns regarding the lack of basic amenities, including acute shortage of potable drinking water, poor and erratic electricity supply with frequent power curtailments, shortage of food grains, dilapidated road infrastructure, and inadequate staff strength in educational and healthcare institutions. A large number of youth also expressed deep concern over rising unemployment.

Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali was accompanied by Shri Manzoor Naik, General Secretary, BJP S.T. Morcha, along with Panchs, Sarpanchs, and other prominent party leaders and respected personalities of the area.

Expressing strong anguish and concern, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali criticized the Jammu and Kashmir Government for its failure to fulfill the promises made to the people during the 2024 Assembly elections. He stated that the hardships of the people have increased manifold over the past one and a half years, clearly reflecting the inefficiency and lack of commitment of the present dispensation.

He specifically referred to the unfulfilled assurances related to free LPG cylinders, free ration, and employment to one lakh youth annually. He further stated that while the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched several welfare schemes for unemployed youth, marginalized sections, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and residents of backward and remote areas, the UT Government has failed to ensure their effective implementation at the grassroots level.

Highlighting the immense hydroelectric potential of the region, he urged the government to harness these resources in the interest of development and employment generation. He also pointed out that despite being a naturally scenic and tourism-friendly area, Budhal has remained neglected for years due to government apathy.

Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali demanded immediate redressal of public grievances and called upon the government to honor and fulfill all commitments made to the people.

JK Dairy Cooperative Federation Organises Awareness Camp for Board of Directors of Khwas FPO Cooperative Limited

As per the guidance of Ms. Babila Rakwal (JKAS), Commissioner Secretary, Cooperatives, Jammu & Kashmir Dairy Cooperative Federation Limited (JKDCF) organised an awareness camp for the Members of the Board of Directors of The Khwas FPO Cooperative Limited, Block Khwas. The programme was organised with the support of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and JKDCF, with the objective of strengthening cooperative institutions and enhancing awareness about cooperative governance, schemes, and sustainable development.

During the camp, detailed awareness was imparted to the members of the Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) by Mr. Mohd Farooq Inqlabi, Director JKDCF, who highlighted the role of cooperatives in empowering farmers, improving livelihoods, and promoting dairy and allied activities through institutional support and government schemes.

The camp was graced by Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Rajouri, Mr. Adnan Rather, who emphasised transparency, accountability, and active participation of members in cooperative functioning. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Assistant Registrar (HQ) Mr. Naseer Choudhary, Inspector Mr. Azad Malik, and Supervisor Mr. Zaheer Iqbal, who also shared valuable insights on cooperative laws, financial discipline, and effective management of FPOs.
The programme was chaired by Mr. Abdul Rashid, Chairman FPO, while Mr. Manzoor Hussain, Secretary FPO, coordinated the proceedings. Participants appreciated the initiative and expressed confidence that such awareness programmes would strengthen grassroots-level cooperatives and contribute to overall rural development in the area.

The camp concluded with an interactive session, where members raised queries and received guidance from the officers present, reaffirming the commitment of JKDCF and the Cooperative Department towards the growth and sustainability of cooperatives in the region.

Unke dwara diye gaye gyaan, sikhaye gaye moolya aur unke shishyon ke madhyam se unki yaadein sadaiv jeevit rahengi. Shiksha ke kshetra mein unki sevaon ko sada samman aur aadar ke saath yaad kiya jayega.
