The Chocolate Chip Starfish (Protoreaster nodosus) isn't a true fish. They are predators. They will eat corals and clams.This is a great algae eater but not reef safe and will eat your coral. Although they most commonly have five arms, some of these animals can grow up to 40 arms. It belongs to marine invertebrates like sea cucumbers, sea urchins, and sand dollars. Starfish lack a brain and blood, relying on filtered sea water to pump nutrients through their nervous system instead of traditional circulatory processes.
